@@MattisWell.20 I still don't see what that has to do with our Christian walk. Anybody who has followed this church for any length of time should know that they don't generally comment on celestial omens.

@@cherylkopec1625 all solar eclipses are celestial manifestations of that cosmic truth we experience as death and rebirth. It’s not a celestial omen. It’s a celestial phenomenon pointing to what life in Christ looks like, especially in the times when we’re going through spiritual birth pangs where it feels like all is lost to the darkness, only for the Sun to shine again with all of its splendor. So in that context, it has everything to do with what this sermon is about.

@@MattisWell.20 if you're looking for a death and rebirth metaphor, I would think nighttime would be a better sermon illustration than a solar eclipse, which only lasts for a few minutes and covers a very narrow geographic area. But I think it's pretty weird to criticize a preacher for not using your favorite sermon illustration.
