Can you run two separate DOS? If so is there a link you can send me to show me how to set it up
@mittenreefer3 жыл бұрын
You can also buy a onelink cable and ditch the power and aquabus if you have an apex ;) less mess is best
@BulkReefSupply3 жыл бұрын
Very true! Nice to save an outlet on the energy bar and one less cable to route! Just make sure you have a free 1link port on your energy bar.

If it wasn’t $300 I would totally buy it 😂

Lot's of people say it's loud. True or not?
@ProducerReef3 жыл бұрын
When at high speeds like AWC it’s loud.
@andygustafson13 жыл бұрын
Very loud!
@scottoliphant86253 жыл бұрын
It's a bit noisy even at slower, constant AWC rates! Hopefully the second generation, if/when it comes it out improves upon this.
@truereefkeeping60223 жыл бұрын
Mine isn’t that loud for AWC , I can’t hear it if I leave the room and shut the door
@andygustafson13 жыл бұрын
I just put new heads on and it is still loud maybe the new dos units will be quieter

How are you supposed to use this on a calcium reactor?
@ThomasBReef3 жыл бұрын
There is a thread on Neptune Systems forum that goes over it! It's a bit convoluted.
@jessielees2 жыл бұрын
... love everything about it except for the constant air bubbles in the line, withtwo different units and no matter what Ive tried...
@BulkReefSupply2 жыл бұрын
One thing that we've done to most of our DOS pumps is to use 1/4" RO style tubing instead of the more flexible tubing that's included. Both work, but with RO tubing, we can use push connect fittings with no air getting in the line issues.
@michaelbaldwin33563 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure these has been said numerous times as not a continuous duty pump and not recommend for calcium reactors.
@BulkReefSupply3 жыл бұрын
That's true that they are not continuous duty. If you were to use with a calcium reactor, you'd want to set up blocks of dosing throughout the day. Since the pH of the calcium reactor should remain stable, the effluent inside should also remain stable in terms of calcium and alkalinity concentration (as it will reach a saturation point). Granted, continuous duty pumps like the Kamoer or Versa might be easier for the average hobbyist or those that don't have an Apex already.
@michaelbaldwin33563 жыл бұрын
@@BulkReefSupply that would defeat the purpose of a calcium reactor which in my understanding is made to run 24/7. If I could supply a high demand aquarium with intermittent dosing I would use 2 part and for go the low Ph and phosphate associated with a calcium reactor.

Too bad it sounds like a jet engine when running

I use one for automatic water changes and it’s really not that loud if I shut the door I cannot hear it at all
@andygustafson13 жыл бұрын
@@truereefkeeping6022 added new heads and still super loud even at different speeds, I can hear it across the house. Got mine about 2 years ago maybe the newer units are more quiet? I hope…
@truereefkeeping60223 жыл бұрын
@@andygustafson1 both mine click when they are on even at low speeds like .05 ml doses, and one of them the one I took the tabs off to hang it is a little louder for some reason maybe it’s because I can hear the motor more but those are my only complaints I’m surprised you can hear it that far away that’s crazy
@etdizzle102 жыл бұрын
It is definitely a bit louder than I'd prefer, especially since mine is not mounted under the stand.
