Great video, I was born and raised in Neath but moved to Port Talbot nearly a decade ago, it's definitely the better town, the beach is also a bonus

Shows how much of the land we lost to development of housing and nursing homes and the like and its lost forever.

That was epic, I’ve worked around this area so many times over the years, it brought back many memories. I was hoping for a glimpse of Traethmelyn Primary School where I worked as a contractor way back in 1987. Apparently it was bulldozed now replaced by Bro Dur. At 7:30 to see the old Lido come into view was awesome, I swam there many times. I was hoping you’d go right up to Margam Crem at the end, but to see the stretch at J41 where I pass as I head off west every morning made up for it. off to binge watch the rest of your videos now..............

Jersey Beach hotel, my aunt got married there. Afan Lido, I remember it well. It had very high diving boards! I think it burned down back in the noughties

My Grandparents and Great Uncle (who wrote for the local newspaper and published a book about the place) lived in Sandfields. My Mum and her siblings grew up there. We visited many times and Aberavon beach has a special place in my memories.

Having spent my childhood and youth growing up on the estate going to the comp working in the steelworks this video reminded me of why I moved away in 1979 never to return,

I enjoyed my childhood in Sandflelds in the 60s , but we moved to Swansea in 68 and I left Wales soon after, Sandfields looks so barren, its quite a shock to see no trees have ever been grown there since the 60s.

Its nice to see the old place again, but having now lived in Australia for over 40 years I am struck by the almost complete absence of trees or even tall shrubs in Sandfields, despite our low rainfall, even council housing has a tree planted on the nature reserve, it would appear that the local council either won't allow it, or enterprising vandals remove them as soon as they are planted. 😞

1 of the most nostalgic vid's seen about PT (sorry NPT 😞). Poverty struck the place though! No wonder among areas of 'worst deprivation in UK'! Ah well, my Grandpa slaved away in them Steelworks (RIP). Nice1 all/Up'loader.✌
