In a dystopian world, the New Founding Fathers of America, also known as NFFA, legalizes all types of crime for twelve hours which attempts a catharsis amidst the rising crime rates of the nation, calling it the Purge. However, the NFFA faces a resistance group that reveals the anti-poor and undemocratic intentions of the government. Meanwhile, the seventh annual Purge is different for Sergeant Leo Barnes, who preys on his son's killer. What should have been a simple plan turns extreme when he decides to save a mother and her daughter and finds himself stranded in the lawless streets.
