A world without Gene Roddenberry's would be a very dull and mundane world indeed?!

About every 10 years I rewatch the original series. Love the remastered videos.

@@Terryfan I think that Gene would be especially honored by how Strange New Worlds is building upon his originally intended Star Trek pilot under Captain Pike's command.

@@Terryfan Nah, we now have the original GeneTrek, JJTrek (fine cast, lousy scripts), and the disappointment that is KurtzTrek (which Gene Jr. "Rod", executive produces)... I think that Gene would be so disappointed in what his son has allowed to happen, now that Majel is gone too... I recommend "Star Trek Continues" to TOS fans to finish Kirk's five year mission... too bad CBS/Paramount forced it to cut the number of episodes...

Funny how this Bio glosses over Gene's drug addictions and mistresses.

And his poor script writing, his ego, his constant meddling, his alcoholism. Nobody liked working with him and for that matter liked having him around. He was a despicable person to say the least.

But Trekkies don't care about that. So what if it is a junkie, alcoholic womaniser? So it is an egotistical bully. It doesn't matter, it has a vision afterall! Oh wow yeah, heh, the vision.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA omg how frigging sad.

In the second pilot, the tombstone created by Mitchell said, "James R. Kirk"... oops... ;-) And Chekov wasn't in the second pilot. He was added later in the series to get those "Beatles Kids"... ;-)

Roddenberry was a visionary, but his ego got in the way of his creative mind. Paramount made the right decision to remove him from any creative input after the first film. Every movie made after 1979 was more successful than the original because Roddenbury’s suggestions were ignored.

I believe that Gene definitely should not have been the be all, end all of this franchise but I think the subsequent films would have benefited from more of his input.

Patrick Stewart the worst captain in Star Trek, why you may ask well i complained on the clothes where not comfortable enough for him, well its a show not a dam fashion show and Mikel Dorn never complained and had the war prosthetics !
