Most often with we humans it is sexual dysfunction that leads a downward plunge. As one famous researcher of this area once styled it: "The sexual misery of Mankind." Check! FIRST -- Nature as she dictates what must be (no exceptions or penalties eventually are to accrue as forms of misery not easily perceived/diagnosed) THEN -- human confected rules conforming as closely as intelligently possible and not the other way around, and so-especially of any-and-all originated of sick, monotheist mysticism -- the three being real killers, strutting and posing as things "wondrous." They are in-truth the opposite -- BEHOLD their wicked ways and works with unshaded eyes. (Conversely the polytheisms generally describe Nature; thus being not antagonistic to it.)

I sang in the vocal backup group on his very popular show in the 1960s for a few seasons and was stunned at what a jerk he was. He was downright mean to Harvey Korman. I was thrilled when Harvey went across the hall to Carol Burnett’s studio (the greatest lady ever, inside and out) and he got to shine on her show. I cashed in on some good karma as well when I got to work on the Dean Martin Show for 6 years. An absolute prince. I miss you, Boss

Funny also that approx 250 people who knew or worked with Bing were interviewed in decades of outstanding research and it was noted most of them loved him. So who didn't want to work with him???

Yes, Uncle Milton made the list. Decades ago, my husband and I were flying back home from one of many ski trips out west with another couple who were our best friends. On the way home we had to wait between flights and stepped into a small restaurant. Seated at a table with four or five young men was Milton. I recognized him immediately and said softly to my friends that’s Milton B. He must have had super hearing, because he started at us with a look that was pure EVIL! Fortunately the place was not crowded and we chose a table as far away from that old man as we could get. I always thought that he was an overacting actor, anyway. Just one more Hollywood jerk. They are a dime a dozen. But some of the actors I’ve had the pleasure to meet or known were very sweet and classy. Amount these are James Garner and Bill Cobbs. In 1990 our house was used in the Hallmark Hall of fame movie “Decoration Day’. They spent a week or so at our place. I enjoyed hanging around with them. Both were very kind and sweet to us. ❤❤❤

I think that the line uttered by Shirley Maclaine, in the movie "Bewitched", is more on the money than most people realize when she said (about actors) "... deep down, there is no deep down." I believe that a person's ability to become different characters requires the lack of one's own character. Combine that with the influence of Hollywood, and you usually end up with a less than stellar type of person.

Evidence indicates that poor mental health is correlated with celebrity worship. Celebrities are just people. They're professional pretenders. Many (if not most) are narcissists. Some want to be worshipped. Some don't. Some are genuinely good and appreciative people. Many ....are not. Regardless of their respective personality traits (or flaws), none should be placed on any kind of a special pedestal; moreover, it's not thier place to tell us how to think, ...how to vote,... or how to dress, look or live. Henry Fonda was my great uncle. He came from a dirt-poor rural background, and was never able to get past that childhood. Something happened, when he was a little kid, that caused that, that's all I know.

You don't need to make excuses for Henry Fonda. He was a good man. If he had a difficult character, there's nothing wrong with that. He didn't stay aside when the war started, he went through it like a most honorable man, never once taking advantage of the advantages he had. And for thousands or even millions of people, his best characters became a role model and an example of a better man. The mark that your great uncle has left behind him has been left by very few. And none of those who dares to reproach him for anything will ever be able to do anything like he'd done . I'm sad that I was only four years old when he died. I would have definitely gone to the theater to see one of his shows. But now I have over a hundred movies to choose from - and that's a lot of inspiration! Don't make excuses for your great uncle, be proud of him!

As an old British soldier, myself, I think he probably went through things in the war that his so-called biographer never did and could never begin to understand anyway but, unlike Mr Morrison and others, he did his duty, was a great actor and made some great films that are better than most of the rubbish produced now. I was poor as a child through no fault of my parents, who gave us all love and some of that has stayed with me for 70 years, so nobody should judge anyone unless they have lived through the same things themselves.

I just completed a biography of Cary Grant. Now…HE had a terrible childhood and unfortunately I think that trauma lasted a long time…and caused much pain. Interfered with his relationships and marriages. He could be difficult and exacting as an actor. But still very professional! Treated people fairly decently…professionally and in person. Nothing like some of these people. Also better looking than almost every other man in Hollywood.

I don't know if they're inherently evil. I think just being a celebrity goes to people's heads. They get an over inflated sense of self-worth. They play so many different roles and get so mixed up that they don't even know who they are anymore. So they lash out at others and often turn to substance abuse to cope. I believe most actor celebrities are just plain miserable.

You have this in today's world as well. What the average person does not understand, is that what they see, and or hear is the person's stage/TV/radio/pod cast personality. It is not their true selves. The late Rush Limbaugh while on radio was a very bombast individual, in person he was actually very gracious. All the Beatles still to this day have time for their fans. The band Metallica have a golden rule. They won't leave until that last fan who wants their autograph or photo with them gets it. Also, in these jobs/careers there is a lot of pressure and self imposed pressure placed on these individuals. There is an old saying, "any press, good or bad, is still press."
