Hi Candice Lambert! That is absolutely awesome and glad to hear it. I believe it's possible a fair percentage of JWs would "get it" if they watched even a few episodes in terms of drawing the connection (cult). Whether a large number of those would make a move about it is likely influenced by the numbers of significant people in their life that are JW. As I've said, my belief is TONS of JW are making the Theocratic Business Decision, and staying in while low-key knowing the tower is falling. Many know they are simply buying time though as they will be sniffed out at some point. Best......

I just found your channel after watching the episode of Aftermath and listening to others on youtube talking about it. I thought the episode was excellent too. Briefly-I got out in the mid-90’s. I had spent 2 years studying with a sister (I do remember her name but out of respect I won’t say it) and 5 years as a baptized member and part time publisher. I grew up in the United Church Of Christ (not to be confused with Church of Christ-they are different denominations-but its confusing to some) and was brought up with the permission and encouragement to read read read! Religion, culture, traditions, food, celebrations, customs of peoples all around the World fascinated me to no end. Well, I tool the knock on the door as an opportunity to learn, get all kinds of study material and attend “church” which I was corrected on immediately by the way 😁 and it eventually led to my being baptized after two years of studying and attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall, including Sundays and Thursdays meetings (there were only those two at that time, I understand more were added at some point). My parents and siblings were upset for obvious reasons, but although I was baptized a Jehovah’s Witness, I maintained a good relationship with my family, I would sit quietly at Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings and attend birthday’s-while still doing my JW thing. If they knew that....😂🤣 The more I learned though, the more it was just wrong. The first thing that pissed me off was the talk about how sisters must be subservient to the brothers and used the reasoning....get this....that because a female brain is “smaller” that she isn’t as smart and can’t hold positions of authority. Are you kidding me!? The second thing was that I asked a question about Paradise Earth: “Okay all well and good and perfect, everything I need, no war no hate, all agape love etc. good good. But, what happens when we do everything, see everything, explore everwhere, taste all the food, meet all the people (because there will eventually be no more babies because the Earth will be filled) and experience everything there is to experience? What then?” No one had an acceptable answer for that. Things like “Well, you’ll be in Paradise forever. No want, no pain, and perfectly content forever.” Okay, so what? After everything is done there is to do, we’re just going to sit around twiddling our thumbs and exclaiming how happy we are? “Well, yes. You will be happy forever. In Paradise.” So I gave up. Went covert and learned things like the book no one but elders are allowed to touch, see or read, especially the women. Yeah, that was enlightening. And then there was the thing about, you mentioned this, where only the governing body can “hear Jehovah” and that He gives only them “New Understandings” and its their job to inform the rest of the Great Crowd. I was expected to just take some random guys word for it, that they were the only ones who could hear God. Anyone else saying they can hear God speaking to them gets a nice white vest that makes you hug yourself and a whole room thats one gigantic bed! And more stuff, of course...but if I were to type it al out...well..you understand, right? This post would be longer than it is now! 😂 Anyway, I inquired as to what this person or that person did that we’re supposed to be ignoring them for, and a few sisters were more informative than others and I eventually came up with a plan to get myself disfellowshipped. Because I knew that was only way they would leave me alone. I had stopped going to the Meetings at one point, but I got a visit from two of them, two brothers at a time or a brother and sister (married) at a time, every single day. Every. Day. So I went back to the meetings to get them to stop coming to my house. You know what I did to get disfellowshipped? I moved in with a old high school friend, under the pretense of “sharing expenses.” My old friend was a man. OH NO!! You can imagine the eyebrows shooting up so fast they were in danger of getting caught in the ceiling fan, right? 😂 So, since I had researched the process and learned generally how things go, I allowed them to take their actions in the order they were supposed to being good little Elders and following the Kingdom books that instructed them how to handle things such. I never lied. I said “To share expenses. We have separate bedrooms. We work different shifts and are hardly in the house together.” None of that was untrue. But, they assumed I was being a fornicator, having sex, or at least “heavy petting” 😂 and that doesn’t look good. I said I already told you the truth. They asked me if I was going to change my living arrangements. I said no. They said, “wait out in the hall,” I went out, the three of them (two elders from my congregation, one from a neighboring congregation) talked for about 10 minutes, then called me back in, said “Sorry, since you have no intention of changing your situation and continue to ‘live imorally’ we have no choice but to disfellowship you. The announcement will be made at the Sunday morning meeting. You are to come in after the meeting starts, and leave before it ends and no one will speak to you until such time as you’re reinstated.” I walked out of the library through the meeting hall, out the door as like I was walking on a sun beam! Never went back. Not even once. I dod however attend a metting in a neighboring Kingdom Hall some ten years later because my brother had a paper to do in college where he had to chose three different places of worship and compare and contrast them. He asked me to go along because I had experience and could decipher things for him. I was amazed at how much had changed in that ten years though. Anyway, that’s how I got out. It was easier for me than someone who has been raised as a Jehovah’s Witness though. I am fully aware of that. I didn’t get the shunning from family like so many do, however I did get the anger from my non-Witness family because I was joining the Witnesses, that was hard in its own right. But, I think individuals who still have family and friends inside and get shunned and basically lose their family is far worse. But, I am so glad that so many are waking up. I’m so glad I woke up back in the 90’s and had the presence of mind to get out. I’m so glad there are people like you who are doing these videos, letting them know they are not alone. To hear about the suicide, the abuse (I was never aware of any abuse in my Kingdom Hall at all) and the hopelessness that some feel is heart wrenching. So thanks for this video, my hope is that it reaches those who need it, that it helps wake them up, and that they take steps to get out and most importantly, that there is life afterwards.

Yup, let's not forget the snitching culture. Telling on your spouses, friends, & loved ones. I was a born-in and I cant wait for these destructive cults to be destroyed. Their money should be seized & paid out to the victims they hurt or even killed over the years. 2 or 3 billion would spread pretty far-that's what the estimates are that both cults each have hoarded. The Fallout hurt me so bad that I had to ask myself what am I really getting myself into. When I did my research on this organization, and saw what I really was getting myself into, I told her f*** her and this organization and I never went back.

I experienced the lack of empathy within the organization. I also saw the lack of love against other JWs that were also in good standing. Elderly and single sisters that are not connected to elders are often neglected. Sometimes single older and disabled brothers are in this group. If one or two elders or elderettes dont like a certain JW for any reason and decides to ostracized them, no matter how petty or misdirected, other JWs will follow them and they will also turn on that person. This unofficial "disfellowshipment" is widespread and common and can go on for years or until the person is driven out of the congregation or the organization. There is an enormous amount of group think, collectivism, and fear in the congregations. No one seem to be able to rationally think or have a mind of their own. I have seen many JWs, including shepherds, ganging up against another JW' for being outspoken. There is a strong "go along to get along" mentally among many JWs and their fear of man is stronger than Godly fear. If The Society or the Shepherds don't specifically direct them to help or volunteer many of them don't. Field service, preparing and going to the meetings along with making comments are their acts of spirituality, love and charity. However, the fish stinks from the top and many JWs in congregations adopt the spirit and mentally of the larger organization. As we only associate with other JWs as suitable associates, many in the rank and file forms cliques within the congregations. They are exclusive and are picky about what other JWs, they will let in. Too often, they have to be relatives or friends of shepherds or somehow prove themselves by being their followers or flunkies. I have seen many instances of JWs being territorial against other JWs from other congregations. You being a former elder was in an elite, influential, and powerful group and probably didn't experienced the low-level type of lack of love and discrimination that the rank-and-file and sisters, especially, single sisters, have to go through and still be" submissive". I'm glad you didn't and was able to leave without a heavy bitterness and your spirit being broken. We can learn a lot from you. I am visiting all of your videos and enjoying them. Thank you again.

Jania B thanks again for your very good observations and insights. You took me back a bit to all 4 congregations I served in over the 27 years. You are right that there is/was a "clique-ish" element in many congos; I tend to believe part of the cult/HCG starter pack looking at it now. You are also right that as an "appointed man" me and my immediate family was insulated from some of this foolishness; in fact we actively sought to NOT be that way. People bring many mental/social issues to these groups/religions and it plays out in some painful ways at times. As you also point out, while I leave without some of the huge baggage/issues that I have come to learn of, I indeed paid in blood and treasure a big price for freedom. My spirit has been tested but not broken. Thank God for that! As I continue to say loudly, we will win and are winning. We're on the "right side of history"; my new favorite line from the 44th Prez. In some ways having a series on a notably different controlling organization can be easier for anyone from being still in to being long out to follow and find useful information on a broad range of their experiences. Since it is much easier to see through the promises that you were never personally invested in, the practices which may not have entirely distance hope they are what you believed and the distance to look at why the group is actually doing various things. As it is pretty easy for people's defenses to come up on anything once or may still hold sacred, even long after recognizing flaws in the wider organization or what happens locally.

Good Day TruthSurvives411, Howdy from the central Texas area... I was directed by another ex witness friend who's faded from the organization. He's from the Chicago area as I was raised up there back in the day as well! Me, my wife and ultimately 6 kids are no longer part of the organization as of September 2017! We's Free!!!!!! I have just started a new channel 3 weeks ago, had to add my voice to this resounding chorus of those figuring out we got screwed! I'm loving your analogy on Second Hand smoke! I know those inside our getting manipulated even more as the leadership becomes more paranoid! My mom and brother are still in... I haven't been able to speak to her since being removed for being divisive.. Even though I have been fighting leukemia since 2012 and I'm not in remission.. She's upset and can't understand my stance. But she's the one who taught me from an early age to stand up for my beliefs and speak the truth! That's all I'm doing... All the majority of ex witnesses is doing. We're turning our training into a weapon against those whom manipulated us by the millions! Keep doing what you do my Brother... I'm going to keep working out the bugs of being nervous on my channel along with the affects of being on chemotherapy (chemo brain) for five plus years! I don't know if you're familiar with the Metropolitan and Downtown congregations in Chicago, I attended for years back in the day when they were off Roosevelt and Ashland! Hi My name is Jayne from UK, I am deaf, ex-jw. I am very very disappointed because some of ex-jw had been watching Leah Rimini show recently for 2 hours and I was so looking forward to it but NO SUBTITLES, to my surprise why did they not put it in subtitles and think of someone who are deaf are ex-jw and I feel left out not knowing what they are talking about and we need to understand and get more involved!!!! I hope that one day will put on again on TV repeated with subtitles......

Tower has definitely begun it's tumble and we can see readily. Sad thing about it is those that "fall out"; will they be "caught" by anyone? I know we're out here doing what we can to help these folks, many of whom we care about. Some are in so much bubble wrap they can't feel it but I guess that's on them. The pivot needed to re-orient themselves to the real world I fear will be a tall order for way too many folks. Best.....
