@@BlondieinChina Like Ear-hole fried cake (erduoyan zhagao, or 耳朵眼炸糕 in Chinese), Tangdui (which is made of Hawthron, 糖堆儿 in Chinese), Changtang, etc. These are snacks, while for breakfast, you can also try guobacai (锅巴菜), zhajuanquan (炸卷圈), doufunao (豆腐脑). There was even a Belgian concession in Tianjin (given as part of the Treaty In The Year Of Xin-Chou of 1901; 11 countries got goodies out of China, the 8 nations that officially invaded in 1900, plus Belgium, Spain, and The Netherlands), so if the Tintin story The Blue Lotus had taken place in Tianjin instead of in Shanghai, Tintin might have been able to claim sanctuary there in a crucial moment instead of having the Japanese and European villains all on his back. xD
