BLURRED BOUNDARIES. While I was watching, I was thinking a few things. First, I was thinking “I see why you’re in Divorce Court.” To me, it looked like Jax was operating with blurred boundaries. If you have a friend that’s that mad at your partner, it’s because of the things that you’ve told them about your partner. That’s one reason. Sometimes when you tell people intimate things about your partner, they feel like they’re closer to you than your partner is. They feel like their position is one that is more important than your partner. She said “I was her friend LONG before they met, and I’ll be here long after.” That part. The other reason is that they’re secretly jealous. Sometimes people have an emotional attachment that has sexual undertones. They may never have sex with you, but they may fantasize about it. It happens with women who are friends with gay women a lot. They think that because the woman is gay, they secretly like them too. And if they EVER had a s*xual encounter, the “straight” woman feels like that’s her one and only lesbian lover. Their “secret bond” is deep, ongoing and unique. All of that together would account for her attitude toward the spouse and how emotionally invested she was in this situation. Just a theory. But unlike a lover, whose feelings you have to protect, you can tell this person everything about you. Your past relationships, your current relationship, your ideas about future relationships. That’s what this looked like, to me.

@ It might hurt, but that woman was overstepping the boundaries of her friend’s relationship. When you do that, you make more problems for your friend. My best friend would never show that kind of outward contempt for my partner. But then again, I would never give her permission to do that. If she EVER stepped over that line, I would make sure she never did that again. #Boundaries
