You may have got by without either ..much ..yet… (example… 4 year old child with mother chatting to elderly neighbour may say.. “mum why is that old lady wrinkled, ugly with missing teeth?” TRUTH? Maybe, Tact? NOPE! “Manners?” Excusable only to a 4 year old….
