Extra notes also work: Ciao hello or hi and Ciao Ciao is bye both informal. Bene or buono is good or che buono is very good. This is not traditional and many Italians would be dying or screaming or holding their heads. lmao

Ahhhh Lasagne the Italian Moussaka...!!! lol... Awesome video mate just what need with all this cold and wet weather we're having down here... Great idea to make a double batch of the meat sauce to freeze and use for a Bolognese as well, or spruce it up with some chillis to have with rice... Bring it on mate love it... Hope you and your grandad are well take care always xxx

Adam Garratt adds a bit to the calorie count but who’s counting 😎😎😎I totally agree with fresh nutmeg I add it too but you have to be careful as it’s quite powerful !!!

one tip i would add, pre-soak the past sheets in hot water for 5 mins. makes a difference.

Adam i have just made this for me and the wife. Also did a quorn one for the daughter who is veggie. We are all in agreement that your lasagne is hands down the best we have yet to taste. The mrs being an impatient git kept saying i hope this is all worth it. I told her to trust your skill. Thank you as i have gained massive brownie points for cooking it. It went down a storm with the daughter who said to her mam, why does yours not taste as good as this🤣. Cheers mate

Great lasagne and even better vocal contribution.😂 You could use a small food processor/shredder though. Will make lfe in the kitchen so much easier.

Looks amazing! My most favourite food! And also the best comfort food there is because of lots of cheese! :D I was only surprised you started with frying the meat first and then adding the vegetables, because it's usually done the other way around, but anyway I'm sure it tasted amazing, I will cook that next week. Also I saw some people quickly blending the vegetables, which could save you some time instead of grating them. But I don't mind some rustic texture and just cut them into small bits.

Hello Sunshine !! What a pain in the butt Lasagna is to make but so good to eat with a nice side salad (no chips) glass of something to wash it down. I actually made a small one after seeing Lou put it in a pie there was a lot of left overs so I cut the noodles up and made a sloppy sauce and lasagna noodle mash up in a low sided pan, plonked cheese on top and stuck it under the grill to brown up. there wasn't much left in the pan that night at all xx

Errr..... Mr Garrattt; when you're making the lasagne 'gravy'; it's ideal as meat/veg. stock. Free Tip: Can of baked beans fried in a little sesame oil with any (dried) herbs you like to try. Oh! Don't forget to use your microwave to 'fry' crisps while you're cooking/heating something else.

Very respectable, Adam! I usually make some fresh pasta sheets and add a layer of ricotta to mine, and I like a bit of oregano and basil in my ragu, but if you ask a dozen nonnas for their recipes, you will get about 30 variations. Lasagne (plural, I believe, because you are using more than one sheet of the noodle) is great (and a favorite of some cats).

I havent bought Lasagne for years. I only like home made and the only thing different between mine and yours is the nutmeg, I’ve never tried putting nutmeg in the sauce but I will now. TFS Adam, this looks great. YUMMO 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃

Hi Adam, excellent recipe, almost authentic. The ingredients need to be added in a different order, treated a bit differently and you should use a metal whisk to break up your mince. Good to have you back. Cheers

New to your channel! discovered you over the weekend and have been binge watching your videos! I'm going to try to make that lasagna! Here in the united states, it is much different! Ricotta as a layer, w some sort of awful sausage which I never use. Quite surprised to see you use a layer of bechamel just watched this video again to see how you made your meat sauce. Intro: Bloody. Well. Done. I laughed, anyway :) Hey Adam... can you do some low carb stuff? I'm doing Keto and I miss TASTY alternatives to pasta, bread, potato, rice etc? I am going to fail miserably if I can't have these things. I know, because I've tried before! Also ... I think "bueno" is Spanish, not Italian. I might be wrong. And... that looks like a damn good lasagna.

Looks great and I bet it tastes fantastic too. If you ever want to experiment with cooking cheeses, you could try swapping parmesan with pecorino or grana padano. In the end, it's down to personal taste, but I think that all those cheeses have a character of their own. PS: It's always a pleasure to see Mogs.

Do you recommend a cast iron braiser like yours or is stainless just as good?

The problem I find with stainless steel, is that everything sticks if the temperature of the pan is not spot on. It'll work if you're used to stainless steel, but I've never got on with it.

Haggis is excellent. I'm not a fan of offal too much, but it's got a very rich savoury flavour with lots of spice. It's good stuff 😊

Welcome back mate Quick question, when you're cooking the bolognese for 3 hours should you crack the lid of the pot so it can reduce down?

Just kind of judge it as you go. If after a couple of hours it's not reduced enough, then take the lid off for a while until it concentrates.

Age six my daughter announced that she was going to be an architect, a couple of years later she changed her mind and told us that she would spend her life travelling the world eating lasagne and writing reviews of the lasagne meals she had eaten. Now aged thirty five she is ........... an architect, but it would not surprise me in the least if she were to throw it all in and just eat lasagne. I always constructed my lasagne meat sauce, pasta, cheese sauce, pasta, meat sauce, pasta, cheese sauce etc. Need to fil them up with as much cheap pasta as possible.

Ok your lasagna looks really good, not much different then how my mum does it. The only difference is she does not use a bechemal sauce, hers is more of a cheese sauce with ricotta, parmigiana cheese, and eggs I believe. Some how I can’t see serving chips with this, keep it simple all you need is a hunk of Italian bread, and their you go.

The old traditional way uses boiled eggs as well. I think opinion is quite divided between bechamel or ricotta. Both are obviously amazing 😂

Errr..... Mr. Garratt; whenever I went to the nearest LidlAldi with the ex-gf, I always looked out for interesting 'leccy stuff. So far, I got a popcorn maker (can be used for 'air-frying' meat), a mincer and a bread-maker.&lots more). Cheap AF AND you learn 'how to'.... Next: Use the seeds from fruit/ veg. and invest in a few (cheap) buckets and some fluorescent daylight bulbs to make your own indoor garden. Oh! a timer (on/off) is needed too...... I'm more Heath-Robinson meets Robinson Crusoe than most BUT: Try them. ......

Dont like it myself hate pasta like eating a rubber band 🤣 but me girls love it and that shit from iceland but am going have a go at making this for them but a like that ingredients for a shepards pie yummy lol thanks for sharing

@Dreamskater100 oh, get a sense of humour. I put lol after the sentence, and secondly, I am Italian, living in Australia, and we don't make lasagne with some of those ingredients. I just can hear the Italians in Italy complaining more than us. So don't tell me how Italians are, I already know. Thank you for your comment and feedback.
