A Fancy Tea Date Day With Friends & A Canadian Snack Haul! | Waldorf Astoria Peacock Alley Royal Tea

In today's vlog we head to the Waldorf Astoria for a fancy tea date day with our friends and then we have a little Canadian snack haul! We loved the Grand Tea at Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria so much that we decided to come back on our own for round 2! We had tea at the Grand Floridian with Chris and Charmaine on one of their last trips and we weren't overly impressed so we wanted to try the Royal Tea with them and see how it differed from our last tea outing. Spoiler, it was much much better! We'll link that video down below if you haven't seen it yet. We never want to be overly negative but it was truly disappointing and didn't live up to the Disney quality that we've come to know and love. We loved everything about the tea at the Waldorf though, the quality of the experience is heads and shoulders above the Grand Floridian. We show the teas that you can choose from, we chose a black tea that tasted slightly like a creamsicle and a wellness green tea. Then we showed the tea sandwich tower, the sandwiches are all so delicious but we talk about our favorites, which was honestly all of them lol. We also show the all of the desserts, they were also all very delicious but we loved the coffee and chocolate the best as well as the special strawberry shortcake like dessert, it reminded us of our wedding cake and it was such a special surprise. We highly recommend checking out the Waldorf Astoria Orlando for afternoon tea if you're looking for something special or just something out of the ordinary to do on your stay in Orlando. where in Canada are you guys from? Banff Springs is lovely for any meal really because of the scenery and because you feel like you're in a castle. Have you tried the Rimrock in Banff it's wonderful too. The Rimrock is the hotel at the foot of the Gondolas.

A friend has one half the Cornish way and the other half the Devon way so he gets the best of both worlds. Good plan! I love loads of jam on my scone. A good unhealthy amount of jam please! Do you guys have a preference of mostly jam, mostly cream or equal amounts. My sister in law is Finnish, has been living in the uk for about 15 years but had never had scones until she met my brother and I made her some. She eats them plain and doesn't even split them in half so they're more bite sized. Just chomps straight in and looks happy! We're also teaching her the joy of dunking biscuits in tea and judging how long to dunk. Teaching the dunk judging is weirdly hard when they're not born with the very British skill.

Being from Canada, its funny to see people talking about our snacks and Canadian Tire money like it's something new! Love it! Canadian Tire money typically ends up in the back seat of your car until you decide to throw it out (or the bottom of your purse) because they are in "cents" and take forever to collect up enough for anything. I guess I have nothing to compare it to but I loved the Grand Floridian Afternoon Tea! We did it for the first time last week and truly loved it. The Waldorf Astoria looked wonderful, though. I like how they showed you each tea and that you can smell the leaves before order. That is very special and hopefully the GF will up their game

Jen looks absolutely radiant! In relation to the Scone comment ... Traditionally, it has been that people in Devon spread clotted cream on the scone, then finish with a dollop of jam, while the Cornish tradition does the reverse, with jam going first and clotted cream on top. I'm from the North East of England and I put jam first them cream :)

We have a local bakery that makes a delicious strawberry cake. It's like eating a BIG strawberry shortcake. Years ago, I decided to try and make my version at home. I like to use a box of yellow cake mix for the cake, but I make the icing with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, powdered sugar, and gelatin (flavorless kind). I can't find my recipe, but I THINK I added a little vanilla sometimes as well. It's been a while since I've made it. I would put 2 cups heavy cream in my stand mixer (with a cold bowl and whisk). While whipping that, I'd put the gelatin in just enough water to dissolve it. Once the whipped cream is stiff enough, I'd mix in the rest of the ingredients before putting it on the cake. Sometimes I would slice the strawberries. Sometimes I pureed them. The cake will have to set up in the fridge for a while before serving though. I've had a few fall over because the gelatin didn't set up. 🤦🏼‍♀️

My first and only (so far) experience having an afternoon tea, was in Sydney, with my two sisters who live there, and it was absolutely delightful! Lovely food and lovely coffee. Sorry, I didn’t have tea, but it was great! Your experience there seems lovely too. It’s sad that the Grand Floridian doesn’t give a good service. Hopefully they’ll improve.

Hope you're not in so much pain anymore and I am glad you enjoyed your Tea date :) It's so weird, Canadian things are a lot more similar to things we've got here in Belgium/Europe in general I guess. Like the chocolate smarties. And the Ketchup chips...like.. you've got so many crazy flavors in America, but you don't have Ketchup chips? That's so weird, :p Ketchup is like the weirdest flavor we've got here in Belgium, the rest is just paprika, salt, pickles and salt&pepper. That's about it :p I love how thoughtful they were in the Waldorf. I mean, the little wedding cake dessert, the personalized menu's. Last time they gave you a present for the baby if I remember correctly? So nice of them. I love little things like that! The mugs or cups or whatever you call them in a fancy way haha... adorable!

Ha! Canadian Tire money......I almost lost it....hahaha. Yes the good ol times of saving the 5 cent and 10 cent bills from Canadian Tire, you can save them up and use it toward a future purchase :)

That was so nice.. How they remembered everything and even went as far as watching videos to see what you liked the most, is going above and beyond service. Seeing Jenn in her red wheel chair, just need a few flames on it and she is ready to fly :) You both looked great and I am so happy Jenn was able to go and to get out of the house. I am sure it did you a world of good!
