Thank you for your review of M.2 NVMe Enclosure.👏

I wonder if you can exceed the storage size recommended to 8tb per slot

What’s the advantage of this approach over 2 Crucial X9 Pro drives connected to a Mac Mini M4? I’m intending to use one as a data drive and the other as a Time Machine backup drive.

The main advantage would be cost most likely. You can get this enclosure and two m.2 drives on sale for less than the portable SSDs usually. Not always though

@ thanks for the prompt reply. If it was a usb4/TB3 device, I can see the 3X speed benefit. But being a usb3.1, it chokes all the nvme’s. I take it you’re not a Mac person. I would have liked to get more insight on Time Machine option for the Mac.

@JeffTokayer yeah unfortunately I can't afford Apple products or else I'd love to be able to cover them more.

Does it mount the two drives with a single cable or do you need a cable for each?
@_Caddac11 ай бұрын
The drives are separate and need separate cables.

@@_Caddac Oh wow, thanks for the quick reply!! Well, I might as-well buy 2 enclosures in that case. thanks!

I don't understand the logic of having 2 slots and using it independently. Why not just get two separate enclosures? For better desk aesthetics? then again, you'll need two cables to connect to one computer so it isn't as neat as it looks. hmm. this caters to a very specific niche group.
