Thanks for doing that whilst you were struggling so much

They made me realise I could be disabled and achieve my dreams, so in a way it makes it threefold sad to see them go, twice for them, their health and their struggles, once on my own selfish front. However I am strong enough now to go on my own, and they was brave enough to motivate me when I really needed it! Just glad they are looking after themselves to be honest! And joined the bi gang!

hi Annika, you were a really influential part of my teenage years. i started watching Make Thrift Buy somewhere around episode 5, and quickly become enamored with the idea that i could make my own stuff. you taught me about fast fashion, about the environment, about worker's rights, and about slow fashion. then, one day, you posted your "get ready with me" video. i was so happy i cried. i'd never seen anyone so like me before. from then on, i paid careful attention when you mentioned accomodations in videos, like your migraine glasses and your iron that lifts itself up. i grew up being told that my pain was imaginary, so the idea that i could do things to make it hurt less was revolutionary. thank you for changing my world

As a middle schooler I watched your videos and on the circle skirt tutorial, I thought, hey I could do this too with the proper equipment! Since then I’ve taught myself with your videos how to sew. Today, I made a men’s dress shirt as a gift and I intend to make some more in the next few days. I’ve learned to draft formal clothing, and I thrift and sew most of my clothes. @@mellyq92 I'm another hypermobile-EDS person- it obviously depends on the hobby, but definitely even doing the tiniest bit of physical therapy (I've only been doing at home stuff since the Panorama started since I'm also on immune-destroying meds) helps immensely. Definitely not crying rn. I’m very glad you’re doing better. You were the person that really taught me how to sew because I wasn’t able to understand how others were trying to teach me. You were a big reason on why I really started enjoying sewing. Your videos fed my creativity to try and do new things. I’ve done so many things with what you have taught me. Thank you. I hope you get everything you want out of life.

I've been watching you ever since I was a teenager and you have kind of become a part of my life (in a great way!), besides inspiring me to start sewing, it was a nice company when I lived in an abusive household, giving me ways to explore my creative self :) I'm so glad to hear news about you, and I also love that you're prioritizing your physical and mental health, even if that means not seeing content again! As a disabled queer person, it can be so hard to function normally and it's lovely to be reminded to revaluate life and how can I make it easier for my health, I don't have to struggle all the time and it's ok to stop doing something if that means being more comfortable, or healthier. I'd like thank you for everything!! ❤️😊🌼 Sorry for the long text :)

Farewell Annika! Your videos taught me so much about sewing and without them I don't think I'd ever have done fashion in uni! Thank you for providing such educational, passionate, and kind videos. Best of luck on everything you do in the future!!!!!!

It's great to hear from you! I was just thinking about you the other day and that's when I realized how long you'd been gone. I was glad to see you still posted on Instagram but I was gutted to see how your health deteriorated in your absence. Goodbyes are hard but they're far better than being unhappy. Stay safe and take care of yourself.

My life got really complicated and hectic when I had my two children over the last three years, so I missed this update and eventually thought - where is that quirky sewing person I used to watch? I'm sorry to hear you had such a huge medical emergency. I am so glad to see you have found passion in sewing again, especially in the burlesque scene, it definitely suits you. Lastly, happy for you that you have figured yourself out and so pleased for you that it is a huge relief for you as they/them. See you again when I see you again. Wishing you the very best for the future. Thank you for your content over the years :)

Your videos were so fun and I learned so much about sewing and chronic illness. When my own chronic condition started getting more painful more frequently, your videos helped me treat myself more gently. I recommended so many of your videos to friends with chronic illness that were into sewing. I was just wondering how you were doing and im so happy to know you're doing so well now. I'm a little sad that your videos are probably never going to be updated again but this was a beautiful farewell. I'm glad your health is better now and I'm glad you're making decisions that are prioritizing your well being. I'm so glad you have found a new interest that brings you so much joy. I'm so glad you've gotten that self-reflection to discover more about your identity

Thank you for teaching me how to sew, for helping me find my place in the disabled community and most of all, being my friend. It will be hard to not ever what you come up with in video form like this, but I’m so dang proud of you for how much progress you have made personally and I’m so excited so see you take that and do so much good stuff for you now. 💖

Hi! I’m a fellow enby with joint hypermobility syndrome (basically much milder EDS). Your videos are what motivated me to get into sewing, and by extension a lot of other hobbies. Thank you so much for being here, and I hope your health continues to improve and your days continue to be happier❤️

Firstly, that outro was so wholesome 🤧. Secondly, I am so happy and proud of how you've grown as a person with your health and deciding what you want to do and your hobbies and those things. I discovered your channel a few years ago when I first got into sewing, your tutorials where super helpful as well as entertaining and your personality was just so cheerful and honest, I was a fan IMMEDIATELY. I'm definitely gonna miss your presence here on KZbin but of course your decision is what matters most. I hope you succeed GREATFULY with each and everything you choose to do moving forward. Wishing you much much love Annika ❣💖❤😊

I woke up this morning and had this sudden thought like "I wonder what Annika's been up to? I haven't seen any videos from them lately!" but now it all makes sense. Thank you for all of the laughs and all of the lessons, and I'm so freaking happy for you! Like, not only did you take time for yourself and prioritize your own health (not an easy thing to do), now you've discovered something amazing about yourself, and found a new passion??? That's AWESOME! You didn't have to share any of this with us, but the fact that you chose to is so incredibly cool of you. It sounds like you had a really scary year, but I for one am very glad that you're still here, and I wish you all the happiness in whatever you do next! ❤︎

Ive loved your videos for years and you are what got me over my fear of machine sewing! Sorry to see you go but im so happy to see you move on to find what helps you be happy and healthy. Burn out is real and you must prioritize yourself over the job. I've loved seeing you on Instagram this past year and will continue to follow you there as well as occasionally binge on your videos here when I need some creative inspiration. You are amazing and I love you.

I am so so glad you are doing better and I wish you all the best in whatever it is you decide to do next. I have been following you since the blog days and made my very first circle skirt with a tutorial of yours. You inspired me to seek out thrifting, DIY, and slow fashion, and you taught me so much about disability advocacy. I cant thank you enough for all of your work over the years.
