I'm so sad to see you go, yet so happy you are taking time for yourself. I remember fangirling over you replying to one of my comments from a year ago, on a years old video, about boob and bra sizes, I doubt you remember but to me that was a huge moment, and made me get back into a project I had fallen out of love with. Thanks for doing that whilst you were struggling so much

you were one of the first people casually talk about their disability and younger me got to see someone else take a bunch of pills as part of their daily routine and that was really important for me. and ive always loved watching your beautiful adventures. its also really cool that you came out and are activly prioritizing yourself and doing things that make you happy.

They made me realise I could be disabled and achieve my dreams, so in a way it makes it threefold sad to see them go, twice for them, their health and their struggles, once on my own selfish front. However I am strong enough now to go on my own, and they was brave enough to motivate me when I really needed it! Just glad they are looking after themselves to be honest! And joined the bi gang!

Actually my first sewing project was because of you, I made a little bag with scraps and dyed it myself. I’m so happy for you, figuring out your health, identity, everything. You’ve made a huge difference to me, you’ve made me laugh and smile and taught me so much about how to sew and create projects myself. hi Annika, you were a really influential part of my teenage years. i started watching Make Thrift Buy somewhere around episode 5, and quickly become enamored with the idea that i could make my own stuff. you taught me about fast fashion, about the environment, about worker's rights, and about slow fashion. then, one day, you posted your "get ready with me" video. i was so happy i cried. i'd never seen anyone so like me before. from then on, i paid careful attention when you mentioned accomodations in videos, like your migraine glasses and your iron that lifts itself up. i grew up being told that my pain was imaginary, so the idea that i could do things to make it hurt less was revolutionary. thank you for changing my world

4 years and 1 day to this date, I received a sewing machine for Christmas. As a middle schooler I watched your videos and on the circle skirt tutorial, I thought, hey I could do this too with the proper equipment! Since then I’ve taught myself with your videos how to sew. Today, I made a men’s dress shirt as a gift and I intend to make some more in the next few days. I’ve learned to draft formal clothing, and I thrift and sew most of my clothes. THANK YOU for being that spark that moved me towards sustainable fashion and also expressing myself creatively. I never thought I was a good visual artist until sewing! I wish you the best of times with dancing and your husband, and whatever else you create. Thank you, Annika!

As a non-binary person with a connective tissue disorder, it makes me so so happy to hear that you've found yourself more. The "I'm dissociating because of pain, right?" Is a mood. Of course we're gonna miss you, but KZbin is so much work I'm just thankful i got to see someone with a similar condition thriving right around when I first got diagnosed. @@mellyq92 I'm another hypermobile-EDS person- it obviously depends on the hobby, but definitely even doing the tiniest bit of physical therapy (I've only been doing at home stuff since the Panorama started since I'm also on immune-destroying meds) helps immensely. I fell off the wagon because of depression, but I adopted a new dog and now HAVE to take of myself. I really only do a 1km walk a day and about 10-15 minutes of dedicated PT, but that's enough to help both my mood and joints. I don't have very physically demanding hobbies, mostly gaming, but making sure some of my PT is hand related helps make sure I don't continually mess up my fingers.

The first ever dress I made I followed your very first tutorial to make it, the skater dress made of teacup sheets. I learned a lot of techniques from you and you’re an amazing teacher. I’m saddened to see you leave this platform but understanding of your reasons and hopeful for your future endeavors, especially anything to do with burlesque because I f***ing love it! You’ll always have the support of this fellow queer creator.

Thank you for making these awesome videos. They helped me discover my love for sewing. I always looked forward to new ones so I was sad not to hear from you for so long. I'm sad you went through such a horrible experience, but happy you're still alive, rediscovering your identity and improving your body. I hope you keep being healthy and happy!

very rambly thank you coming up. You are the reason i got into sewing, my mum got me a sewing machine after i spent months watching your content. My first project was using one of your tutorials and I can not thank you enough. Im chronically ill too and having sewing has made such a huge impact on my mental health. You inspired me to look closer at my wardrobe, to stop buying fast fashion and to actually appreciate clothing. And I will always be grateful to you. I hope you`ll keep your videos up as i still reference them a bunch to this day. As sad as it is to see you leave youtube Im looking forward to seeing more of your future endevours on instagram and im super excited for you. Youve changed my life so much, and i can never say thank you enough!

I absolutely loved your videos! When I first found your channel as a young adult, you inspired me to go back to sewing, the difference between fast and slow fashion and to go shopping at Op shops. I think about your video often when I’m in a Salvos or Vinnies! I hope you are able to stabilise your illnesses and are able to do all the things you enjoy! I hope one day I can say thank you in person!

I'm so glad to see you're well. You rekindled my love of sewing and DIY, and you also gave me space to come to terms with who I am as well, both in terms of my chronic mental health issues, but also the space for me to have my own tangle from girl to nonbinary settled. Be well Annika, explore what you want, and fly.

Your videos make sewing seem so approachable and fun and really inspired me to try my best. I loved how candid you were about when things worked out and when things came out not quite right and how to fix it. Thankyou for everything and I’m so happy things are going well for you and I hope they continue to in the future! ❤️

Definitely not crying rn. I’m very glad you’re doing better. You were the person that really taught me how to sew because I wasn’t able to understand how others were trying to teach me. You were a big reason on why I really started enjoying sewing. Your videos fed my creativity to try and do new things. I’ve done so many things with what you have taught me. Thank you. I hope you get everything you want out of life.

I've been watching you ever since I was a teenager and you have kind of become a part of my life (in a great way!), besides inspiring me to start sewing, it was a nice company when I lived in an abusive household, giving me ways to explore my creative self :) I'm so glad to hear news about you, and I also love that you're prioritizing your physical and mental health, even if that means not seeing content again! As a disabled queer person, it can be so hard to function normally and it's lovely to be reminded to revaluate life and how can I make it easier for my health, I don't have to struggle all the time and it's ok to stop doing something if that means being more comfortable, or healthier. I'd like thank you for everything!! ❤️😊🌼 Sorry for the long text :)

It's great to hear from you! I was just thinking about you the other day and that's when I realized how long you'd been gone. I was glad to see you still posted on Instagram but I was gutted to see how your health deteriorated in your absence. Goodbyes are hard but they're far better than being unhappy. Stay safe and take care of yourself.

My life got really complicated and hectic when I had my two children over the last three years, so I missed this update and eventually thought - where is that quirky sewing person I used to watch? I'm sorry to hear you had such a huge medical emergency. I am so glad to see you have found passion in sewing again, especially in the burlesque scene, it definitely suits you. Lastly, happy for you that you have figured yourself out and so pleased for you that it is a huge relief for you as they/them. See you again when I see you again. Wishing you the very best for the future. Thank you for your content over the years :)

Your videos were so fun and I learned so much about sewing and chronic illness. When my own chronic condition started getting more painful more frequently, your videos helped me treat myself more gently. I recommended so many of your videos to friends with chronic illness that were into sewing. I was just wondering how you were doing and im so happy to know you're doing so well now. I'm a little sad that your videos are probably never going to be updated again but this was a beautiful farewell. I'm glad your health is better now and I'm glad you're making decisions that are prioritizing your well being. I'm so glad you have found a new interest that brings you so much joy. I'm so glad you've gotten that self-reflection to discover more about your identity

I discovered your channel a few years ago when I first got into sewing, your tutorials where super helpful as well as entertaining and your personality was just so cheerful and honest, I was a fan IMMEDIATELY. I'm definitely gonna miss your presence here on KZbin but of course your decision is what matters most. I hope you succeed GREATFULY with each and everything you choose to do moving forward. Wishing you much much love Annika ❣💖❤😊

I woke up this morning and had this sudden thought like "I wonder what Annika's been up to? I haven't seen any videos from them lately!" but now it all makes sense. Thank you for all of the laughs and all of the lessons, and I'm so freaking happy for you! Like, not only did you take time for yourself and prioritize your own health (not an easy thing to do), now you've discovered something amazing about yourself, and found a new passion??? That's AWESOME! You didn't have to share any of this with us, but the fact that you chose to is so incredibly cool of you. It sounds like you had a really scary year, but I for one am very glad that you're still here, and I wish you all the happiness in whatever you do next! ❤︎
