My nephew is in prison, in Ohio, for allowing his twin boys to have access to a pistol while he napped. One twin killed the other. He got a 12 year sentence. I think it should have been longer.

My stepson passed away in 2021 at 13. His grandfather left him alone daily w access to guns in Missouri...absolutely nothing happened to the grandfather. Not even an arrest or anything. His response was well he knew firearm safety. It was a glock no safety. He was all alone. It pisses me off to know that Noone was held accountable. A child could just die due to negligence and not even an investigation or arrest made. I wish it could have been a different state. He lived in an unincorporated community and no gun laws at all. We tried and his mother tried to get the county to arrest him. They said only option was civil court and we would lose. I will never understand how that's okay.
@davident1
@davident1 27 күн бұрын
@@Jen_385 Agreed. That is complete BS. There are at least 31 states that do not have these laws. Oddly enough, Ohio, where my Stepson was convicted, also has no laws concerning safe storage or Child Access Prevention. If you haven't, I would still contact a good civil attorney and ask.

@davident1 i live in TX. He was visiting his grandparents for the summer. We called all around. Everyone said it wasn't worth it due to his status and lack of laws. And the fact that it was only him. Noone was hurt beyond himself. It causes me such anger knowing that because he's well off in the community nothing happened. Then on top off that his autopsy was rushed along with his cremation. His grandparents handled it all very fast with the county. The mother griefstricken was not there in that state. And we didn't know until 2 days after he passed. The crazy part is a family in same county who was poor and struggling to feed their children and tried many avenues to get help were put in jail that same week for negligence. Which is what should have happened obviously due to the death of a child. Yet the rich guy who's friends with the sheriff nothing happens.

It's so refreshing to see a judge that actually knows the law & how to use it. Plus he holds everyone accountable for their actions no matter who they are. Most importantly he actually cares about the people who come & stand before him. He wants to see them succeed & actually have a happy, productive life. We really need a lot more judges to be like him, then we might stand a chance of rehabbing people. So when they get out they can be a functioning member of society & not keep coming back to jail. Instead of just throwing people in cells & giving up on them cause they made a mistake.

That's the issue with guns, everyone makes mistakes but guns escalate those mistakes to an extreme degree. You know who I am most angry with? The people who don't give af when kids get mowed down at schools over and over and over. We need better gun control policy overall. Yes, it also comes down to the individual, but gun laws are far too lax.

@Jen_385
@Jen_385 27 күн бұрын
It's that second part that matters. Kids/teens do dumb things when bored or alone or with friends. There isn't enough gun safety in the world to stop a tragedy to happen. My stepson died because his grandfather left him alone w access to guns. Even had his own glock no safety on it. And he would go out working in the ranch and farms all day. One day he left him and the neighbor came by at lunch and found him passed away. He was on a site called omegle. Video was on. No idea what happened and never will. He did all the safety stuff. Went hunting. Knew guns well. And it still happened. It was preventable only by locking away and having keys w him while gone. And when asked he said well he knew gun safety. Nothing happened to him. Never got arrested or investigated. Just ok. Well is what it is. It makes me so angry that a child could die due to negligence and nobody is held accountable.

This judge is great entertainment to watch but it's just crazy how he tells we thr people police have thr right to do anything. They can not just pull you out of the car or search your car. We pay them they are mostly just insecure,egotistical,punks. Go watch long Island audits. I'd like to see police defunded and giving a ton more boundaries to what they can and can not do cause we pay for all there mistakes and rarely or never need them.

let me tell you one thing about majarwan and other hard drugs they can remain in yours system for over a year 45 day in most case is not enuff time to come out clean. that known fact acohal is the only thing that leaves your self that fast or faster. They cant do constration numbers for those dugs. feild sobrity test. you can fail sober. pbt could be used but the walk and turn and the eye test. en the end with feild sobrity test they are not doctor or optomtrst so they say they are quilfied but hey are realy not pbt or body fluid test are the only good test
