53:20 The Boat Captain that Kratos refers to in his journal here is a reference to an NPC that has appeared or has been referenced in almost every God of War game. God of War 1, God of War 2, God of War 3, the 2018 God of War game and the tradition continues here in this one. We never get a name for the character outside of "The Boat Captain" and his only purpose in God of War 1 was to help establish Kratos' character as an anti-hero/monster/a-hole. He then became a running gag throughout the rest of the series.

Tip: Your new shield is different than the original one, when you parry it absorbs the hit, double tab L1 to release it and hit back... Very useful to interrupt their combos.
