I was literally just looking at the Solo rules for this last night as I got this game for my bday this week. I’ll be soloing it this weekend! Thanks for another awesome video

The intro still cracks me up! Thanks for the video, I am very interested to try A Feast for Odin.

Yup, only if I score 100 or more in the solo mode do I consider it a victory. I do understand though why some games don't explicitly state a win-lose condition. Variables in the game can make high scores vary from game to game. Glass Road is a good example of this. One thing I wish every solo mode included is challenges. Santa Maria and Viticulture are great examples. Challenges impose restrictions and force you try different strategies and discover other ways to play and win the game. It also helps aleviate the "this game is broken, there's only one good strategy" mentallity. A Feast for Odin offers this in its solo scenarios (available from it's BGG File section).

I agree I like the designer to tell me a standard to beat. It's like eating a meal from a chef. I want the expert to show me what their vision is. And then I want to experience that

I definitely feel you on the win/lose condition. Good advice on the 100 points idea!

If it doesn’t have a win/lose condition, I make one. I actually got that idea from you when you made your video on dinosaur island. But it does feel better when the publisher makes it instead of us.

Ahoy Brother Nicko McMurpher, great video. Glad you tried it solo. It's a brilliant design. Mix of information and yelling at your imaginary mom. This is what KZbin was made for.

This might be my favorite solo. Every game has a different focus. It doesn't take long to play

John Smith about how long is the solo? do you play 6 or 7 rounds? it sounds like the solo ruleset is pretty simple, no complex a.i. to keep up!! i wantsss...

You know you are pretty strong Nick, when you can hold Feast for Odin box on your shoulder like that one handed with just the fingers. ;)

Thx for review, I bought caverna and really like it solo. There is also a 100 points = very good condition. And here i like it more, because else i would play every game the same. So i play and after that i look at the score and say "hey this is way is worth it, or it is not".

We do similarly. Love just exploring different strategies and seeing how they play out

It's actually better that there's no win/lose condition. Just pretend it's like Pandemic: Once you start beating that with 4 Epidemics, then up it to 5. Here, once you start regularly beating it at 100, move it up to 105. It's A VARIABLE win/lose condition!

Can anyone tell me how long this game takes to solo? Hour and a half? Two hours?
@TheBrothersMurph4 жыл бұрын
I’d say 45-1hr not including set up and take down
