Hey Ryan I know you switched to this camera set up so it would be easier on the edit - but is there anyway to up the quality/improve the lighting? When it’s on your face it’s really blown out and the footage is really jumpy and seems to be skipping frames. Still enjoying your videos the camera just throws me off!
@NightsAroundaTable4 жыл бұрын
So some good news, and bad news: The bad news is that i shot three unboxings in one go, so this vid and the upcoming Cartographers vid will suffer from the same problems. i've been trying to sort out the frame skipping problem. i just went out yesterday and blew 200 bucks on a better capture card, which i'm hoping will fix that issue. The colour is a different issue. The lighting is the same as the lighting i use in my How to Play videos.... it's just the filtering/treatment that's different. The way the feed looks on my laptop and on my monitors is much different from how the final video file turns out, and i haven't figured out how to correct that. But i guess the good news is that i see the same problems you're seeing, and i'm working hard behind the scenes to fix!

Nights Around a Table well I hope you can resolve the issues! Looking forward to more videos 🤘🏻

You will be fine. If you've learned trickerion, you can learn this easily. Plus, aside from some of the cards, you almost need no refreshing on future play throughs.
@Aquadoozy4 жыл бұрын
It's not as bad as it seems. AFFO was very intimidating at first with all the components. But the rulebook is very well done. And the trays do a excellent job sorting out all the components and laying them out in a way that makes sense while playing. The board looks like a headache because of the hundred action spaces. Its laid out reasonably well into different sections so it will start to make sense. Want animals? Go here. Want resources? Go here. Want to hunt? Go up top, etc. For the cards, start with deck A. We are several games in and haven't yet touched decks b & c. Honestly deck A by itself has so many cards! And you don't even use that many of them during the game. It's a great game, you weren't steered wrong.
@NightsAroundaTable4 жыл бұрын
The accidental tile flipping was a pain, and the action spaces are super tiny!

Your last few videos looks a bit bright and a bit blurry? Maybe something wrong with the camera setting? Anyway, I think Feast if harder than Agricola. I think partly maybe due to reading the rulebook, I was not the one reading the rulebook when we played Agricola

It's whole *host* of problems that i'm very actively trying to fix, but unfortunately, i shot 3 vids back-to-back, so you'll notice the same technical issues in next Friday's video. Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience!

I just got A Feast for Odin in the mail today! Crazy! I adore Agricola, and I'm looking for good games to solo, so I got this.It was still a bit expensive buying it second-hand on BGG. (I love how buying second-hand is good for the environment and saves at least a little money, but almost nobody wants to sell their games at actual used prices on there....) I'll record my opening it for you to see if I can get a good box fart. You could probably say I'm really into vikings, too (The 2007 board game Vikings is great! Recommend it for your wife!). More specifically, I'm into Norse culture because their mythology is really cool! The gods are all flawed beings destined to die in a HUGE battle that ends the world, and a lot of them have stories about giving up something willingly that, in the end, causes them to lose the battle. It's really interesting.
@NightsAroundaTable4 жыл бұрын
Oh no way! i imagine shipping costs were a bit high? Such a big box. i haven't read very much Norse mythology at all... my only knowledge of it comes via Marvel and American Gods. Interesting that they "kill" off their gods whereas, in most cultures, they stick around. i guess Satan's slated to die, and the Greeks killed a lot of their figures, but i can't think of a single Greek *god* who dies ...? Lots of non-gods, like demigods and titans bite the bullet tho.
@quibily4 жыл бұрын
@@NightsAroundaTable Yeah, shipping made it the same price as in-store. The starting price could have been lower, though, in my opinion. Most people on BGG market seem to sell their games just about ten dollars lower than the original price. This one was about 20 dollars cheaper with almost 20 dollar shipping, hehe. I used Librivox regularly on the bus to a weekend job last year. It's basically the audiobook version of Gutenberg Project. Free audiobooks read by volunteers. If you like old lit but are too busy to stop everything you're doing and read most days, I highly recommend it!
