Okay, a suggestion is that you do what is best for you and what you want to do. Living your life and keeping a journal should be a daily thing. The start, some middle, the end and the final denouement can be in just a "sentence" or two ... or an epic-of-a-day :) I'm sure that in any day, there is a moment of video that makes-your-point, Andrew ...
@Hawksforever997 жыл бұрын
Andrew Neeme from a financial perspective, it seems like putting in more table hours would be better and then follow them up with more summary vlogs. Not saying you should move to ONLY summary vlogs, as we would lose out on your famous production value somewhat which many people wouldn't like. That said, I'm mostly here for the poker myself, as well as the travel and seeing other card rooms and how things are in different places that I've never played in. But I think the summaries would give us poker fans more of what we crave. In OTHER news, I always laugh when you say you're gonna have a "quick hit and run" session because I feel like you jinx yourself there lol...and as a player myself, I don't understand the want for a "regular schedule," as making whatever schedule I please is almost half the reason to be a poker pro imo...but then again, I haven't been at it as long as you by any stretch.
@tongmaa7 жыл бұрын
Nice post, Ed. I agree with your conclusion, too; that part of living as a poker player is to make your own schedule. Except, that too becomes a "regular schedule" :) After a career in the Army, I'm not a big fan on exercise, but it is still important, and if I was there I would be walking around looking for gemstones; glittering jewels of the desert which take a bit of looking to find. That takes time, but would be something fun for me and an exercise both physical and also relaxation from the tension of the "job". Would make interesting video, sort of self-editing on *spectacular* finds, and fit right in with the glitter of Vegas poker "mining". But, that's just me :) And, bars and noisy casino views while explaining the play-of-the-hand; win and lose statistics are often glittery enough, and especially when the vlogger has the personality Andrew has, and he does show some different views of the casino industry. One I like to see more of because of their support for poker ... everywhere allowed. Support your local poker "clubs", vloggers :)

He's a creator too and who is to say which is the greater, the creator or the poker player, at any given moment? BUT, I agree with you that it's not a fail. How often are you going to get a juicy table for 5/10 at the Bellagio? It would be criminal to cut that kind of session short.
@dad1487 жыл бұрын
I agree, Andrew you don't need to change much about the vlogs. If you try to crank out more they might deteriorate to what trooper has been putting out lately. We don't need to see you get coffee and deliver hats for 10 to 15 minutes a day. He still puts out a decent one once in awhile. Quality over quantity. Keep up the good work.
@markblack51087 жыл бұрын
Here's my input: For me personally it's always going to be quality over quantity. I started watching your vlogs because they were way above average as far as editing and content goes, and I think it relates to your own poker life. Since you enjoy poker so much, it's always going to reflect your enjoyment in your own vlogs. So cutting to 4 hour poker sessions is never going to work. If we have to settle for less vlogs than so be it. The good ones are always going to be worth waiting for. So I say, enjoy your life man. Get that needed rest, take care of yourself and run those poker marathons. You love it and we love watching you. Cheers.

Mr. N.: Have been a subscriber for several months, very enjoyable/educational and your presentation/personality is outstanding when explaining hands and strategy. While you were talking about "firm 4 hour sessions..." I was thinking about being in a good game, that you would not want to leave, and, you would have that 4 hour limit on your mind while playing! Had to laugh out loud when a couple of seconds later, the screen came up, "12 hours later..." I would respectfully submit that your first obligation is to yourself/partner, and being that poker is your "job" I would not limit yourself, but rather find some type of middle ground that is comfortable to you. Speaking for myself, but I imagine for many other subscribers, I appreciate your concern for us as viewers receiving as much vlog minutes as possible, however, should your vlog posts stay the same, or even reduce some, your narration and vlog content are still very much entertaining, education and informative. CHEERS!!!

Yo Andrew, long time subscriber and admirer. I thought that I wanted more table action and less non-table chat, but then you did a blog which cut straight to the hands and ran through them quick. I did not enjoy that so much. So, I vote that you do the blog however you want and whenever you can. If we have to wait a week or two for each blog so be it. Hey Andrew, firstly thanks for the videos. Been watching since around the 10th vid. Really great insight on playing cash games from a pro! Recommendation is to not cut down on hours spent playing poker, especially as it's profitable for you. I would recommend hiring someone to edit the videos, tell them exactly what to do, the style you go for etc. Then all you have to do is spend 10-20mins reviewing their work and tell them what to change. Would probably save you at least 10 hours a week I assume. Which can be spent earning more at the table :)) Good luck!

I am fine with the videos that are coming out. The vidoes have such a good quality that i don't care if they come every day or every two days. Every video is special and good. Also playing poker is your job and the way you are earing the most part of your money, so it doesn't make any sence to cut down the session length. Just let it continue this way and i am so excited when a new vid is out, because it doesn't happen every day! Greetings from Germany!

Great as always, Andrew. In terms of hours spent playing poker, vlogging, etc., wonder whether your true passions and your multiple revenue streams align, or whether they even should. In other words, if playing poker is your passion, do you make more from playing than from vlogging or from your growing merchandising line, podcasts and other things - yes you're a poker player, but you're also a well-educated AND street-smart entrepreneur. You're still young - take a step back to ask yourself what truly makes you happy (and what helps pay the bills) ... at the end of it all, if you can maintain a quality of life you want while being happy with everything else, then you're rich indeed. It's hard to make everything a No. 1 priority - passions, revenues, hobbies, they're all variables tied to switches you can toggle up and down until you find the harmony you want. And figure that out before the rest of us 50+ year-old folks and you'll be gold. As always, wishing you and Busi continued MAX SUCCESS.

Hi Andrew, I hope you had a good thanksgiving weekend. For me the vlogs are always on point and I wouldn't change a thing. I love the drone footage of Vegas and of course the hand histories. You've come a long way in a year, 95 vlogs in and 73K subs, if it ain't broke don't fix it. That said if you feel like you need a change I have complete faith in you and the project but for me the vlogs are outstanding. I seem to remember an early vlog (maybe number 3) had a skateboard so you could always break that out again... And why did I fall for the 4 hour session line, I should know better by now

Andrew, in the AcKc hand, where you face a 4bet OOP vs. a tight reg. The hand actually plays best as a 5bet bluff vs. a very tight range. If he were too tight to profitably 5bet, a flatcall should pretty much always be -EV too.

Great video as always Andrew! Interesting debate about long sessions vs short sessions and exactly the same debate I have been having for past 6 months regarding my online low stakes I play. Because I have a job, I have decided that for the most part once I make around £20 then I do tend to stop especially if doing that within 2 hour period. However, if I get stuck 20, 30 or 40 quid or more I keep grinding it out and often will claw back and either mitigate the loss or even eek out a win. On rare occasions I have a big £50 - £80 loss, but that's OK (Always think of Jeff Boski when I say that!) as my winning sessions seem to offset those run bad sessions. This strategy has been working for me perfectly, though I have read different things seem to work for different people e.g. some folk say that if you are winning then keep playing for hours or until games no good. For some reason, that has not worked for me so I found my own way that appears to be working. Obviously this is low stakes online poker where I see many more hands per hour compared to your live sessions and I play 2 tables at once. I think from watching your VLOGs, you kind of have to play longer sessions it seems, but I may be wrong... It just seems that due to less hands per hour and also you need to work out opponents etc that you need to play at least 6, 8 or even 10+ hours. But hell if the games are as bonkers as some of the games you seem to play in then I can see the dilemma you face. In my 6 max online games for example, it is full of the same hardcore, battle hardened multitabling wizzkids every night and it is so damn difficult to find loose action fish. Only the regs who seem to be playing "perfect poker" and passive fish where I can't get paid easily.... Hence when I make that £20 or so, I tend to feel that is a decent session for me. Oh boy I need to save a bank roll and come to Vegas and get in these games, lol
@devinlooney82327 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of the other comments...you don’t want to be putting time limits on your sessions and miss out on opportunities like the one in this VLog. As much as I love these vids, maybe if you cut back to making one per week it would allow you more time to get your hours in and still have time to do your own editing and keep the quality as high as we’ve been made accustomed to. Whatever you choose to help balance your play, Vlog and personal life, keep up the great work bud!! Happy Holidays from the mitten.

Hi Andrew, my thoughts about the AA hand and I was wondering what you think about that. Why not checking on the turn? There are not many scary river cards and you can let you opponent bluf in case he has nothing (which probably was the case now). If you bet on that flop and turn you just look so nutted. Curious what your thoughts are on this play!

Ok I'm still watching but really enjoying your vlog so far.. All in with 9,10 non suited.. wowzer! And I hope you don't put pressure on yourself in regards to the vlog. That would make it not near as much fun. I think it's a cool idea to have a plan but it cant be set in stone for the very reasons you stated. You just don't know when an awesome table is going to come around and as a poker player your living depends on taking advantage of those situations. I think you just need to be better at not always bypassing your plan even when it's not a premium situation. Anyway just some quick thoughts.. back to the vid.. Take care Nemee. My suggestion would be, go to a standard LV session with the intention of making it a 4 hour session, but if the table is crazy good, poker wins and you gotta capitalize on the goodness. It's not like great tables grow on trees. Poker is situational, after all. I'd also suggest that any travel vlogs, new card rooms, or anything else out of the ordinary LV grind should not be limited to 4 hours.

Thanks for another great vlog! I recommend limiting yourself to 6hr sessions, 4hrs feels rushed in my experience. Anything over 6hrs and you no longer are playing at optimal performance imo.
