Hi Richy, a good list I tested includes 3 x Slingshots, 2 x Ironblasters, 1 x Long Beards, 20 Rangers. The idea behind the list is to deal a lot of damage at a distance and force the opponent into melee. There the S7 king with a branch is waiting for the opponent .. actually works quite well. Mine works quite well, put pressure on the opponent from a distance (3 x catapult), build up pressure on a flank with rangers, and force the opponent into close combat. Ben enjoying the channel just about from the beginning. Attracted to it as a dwarf player but love the positivity of the channel. My humble suggestion for when you start the battle reports is to keep them short with just the essentials. No desire to sit through an actual 2+ hour game. Great idea having players from other armies. Keep up the good work and happy holidays!

@ my Christmas was great with plenty of good food and drink and I picked up plenty of paints and a spearhead box of dark oath which I will use in warriors of chaos. Didn’t get any painting done but given the drinks probably for the best 😂. I did make up for that today working on a unit of Dwarf rangers, I’m hoping by the end of January I’ll have 2000 points painted up which will be my third army (saving the best for last during the year but was somewhat pushed in that direction based on release schedules)

Hey sorry I had too much ale to reply yesterday :) here it is :) Twas the night before Grungni’s return, and deep in the hold, Every dwarf was preparing, their hearts strong and bold. The banners were hung in the Great Hall with care, In hopes that the Ancestor Gods soon would be there. The beardlings were nestled all snug in their beds, While dreams of runic axes danced in their heads. And I in my gromril, my helm shining bright, Had just settled my axe for a long winter’s fight. When out in the tunnels arose such a clatter, I grabbed my warhammer to see what was the matter. Away to the gatehouse, I flew with a roar, Unbolted the grudge-rune and threw wide the door. The glow of the magma through the caverns below Gave the glint of gold treasures and mithril’s soft glow. When, what to my keen dwarven eyes should appear, But a gyrocopter flying, its rotors severe! With a pilot so stout, and a crew armed to fight, I knew in a moment, it was Karaz-a-Karak’s might. More rapid than goblins, his warriors they came, And he bellowed and roared, calling each by their name: “Now, Thorgrim! Now, Belegar! Now, Ungrim, the Slayer! On, Snorri! On, Grungni! On Valaya, the prayer! To the gates of Zhufbar! To Karak Eight Peaks! Strike down the greenskins and reclaim what we seek!” As black powder blasts make goblins retreat, When faced with a cannonball, few stand their feet. So up through the halls the gyrocopter soared, To the top of the keep where the king’s gold is stored. And then, in a rumble, I heard in the stone The stomp of the iron-shod boots we’ve long known. As I drew up my axe and turned ’round the gate, In marched the Ancestors, in armor ornate. They were clad all in runes, from head to their boots, And their beards flowed like rivers, with gems at the roots. Their weapons were mighty, their presence divine, Their faces were stern, carved like stone by design. The light of their gaze made my courage take flame, As they thundered aloud, “We are here to reclaim! The grudges of old must be settled tonight, For the honor of dwarfs and the Ancestors’ might!” Grungni’s broad face held a grim, knowing smile, Valaya stood proud, her shield strong as a tile. The Oath of Vengeance they swore then and there, To right every wrong, no matter how rare. They spoke not a word, but set to their task, Clearing the mines with hammer and flask. The goblins they scattered, the Skaven they fled, And the halls rang with echoes of the countless dead. As the Ancestors departed, they gave a great cheer, “Our kin will rebuild; your future is clear. Stand fast against darkness, hold grudges with pride, For dwarfs are unbroken, with the Ancestors as guide!” And I heard them exclaim, as they vanished from sight, “Happy Grungni’s Return, and to all, a good fight!”

What a great year, i painted nearly 5 full armies! In the two tournaments I entered I came second in one, and won best painted in the other, got really wasted and played many casual games with my pals and made lots of new friends!
