I am a Perth resident. Your video got me motivated and revealed the hidden gem in my own city. Besides the trails, the weather now in Spring is perfect to get on the bike. It's time for me to dust off my old bike, oil the gears and get on the trail and get active again. Cheers mate !

They are working on improving the bike path so you can ride from Joondalup to Mandurah without stopping. To be complete next year. I love that my city has become the most bike friendly in Australia!

That was a very good reason to visit Perth. Rolling along a endless road and reasonable surface is a real pleasure . I did a 200 K Audax at the weekend I cannot remember if I hit a red light. Just pushing the gears all day

DUDE I WAS STARTING TO WORRY ABOUT YOU !!!!!!! it’s been a while since last video 😭😭😭 Man you have picked a great place to go for a little cycling vacation, I have heard nothing but great things about Australia 🇦🇺 and Perth, the Community for cycling is huge down there, fantastic roads, loops, climbs, great coffee shops and can’t forget bike shops too. I ride much of that a few times per week. i do very few k's on roads and where I do it feels quiet and safe. We also average 10 hours sunshine per day over the year.

Dank... this is nice man.. On a side note, knowing ure a doc, i began to have more appreciation and admiration for cyclists whom are medically trained as i got rendered assistance by a doc (Dr Wee, if you see this, thank you v much) when i had a hard fall and that broke my clavicle. Anyway, u ride safe too and looking fwd to your episodes!

Looks like you were on the mt henry bridge bike path that goes all the way to mandurah - 74 km one way of dedicated bike path One of the joys is night cycling - try riverside drive south perth optus stadium - very scenic 😊

If you get tired you can take your bike onto the trains. Bikes are not permitted on train services travelling towards Perth city between the hours of 7.00am and 9.00am. Bikes are not permitted on train services travelling away from Perth city between the hours of 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

Glad you enjoyed yourself in my home town. Made the right choice to go south on the bike path next to the Freeway, 75km uninterrupted. I live halfway down so good for training rides/commute. North is challenging.

ps if you want to do climbing in the city. Kings Parks has some nice loops. Not a lot of car traffic, quite a few riders getting the workouts in before work.

That uninterrupted bike path was really so good! Still can’t stop thinking about it until this day. I shall try the entire length of it next time I’m around 😄

@@thewinsty if you do the uninterrupted bike path ride in summer, you will need to know the water stops are, ie the train stations (also good bail out points), also good coffee stop opposite Cockburn Central station, the bike/coffee shop 1km from the Safety Bay Road intersection (the BikePlace) , the Parklands cemetery (Southern most water stop), also were you can jump in the river cool off (if you do it in 38C like me). If you do turn up in Perth in summer, I will try and convince you to try racing (free race licence just need to pay entry fees), criteriums every Sunday and every second Tuesday evening and time trials in Kings Park every second Tuesday morning. Unfortunately the only oldhambreakfastcc breakfast place I know, Jom Kopitiam in Northbridge is open Thursday through to Monday.
