Love that black and white Bamboo fabric Catherine, it does suit you as I am sure the white linen will also. Not a lot of sewing here at the moment, busy with other creative stuff 🙂

I started laughing when you said you bought another sweatshirt patter! I bought several patterns the past week or so too. I love that bamboo print fabric and there is nothing better to wear in the summer heat than white linen. Trust me, it gets as high as 110 degrees F here. It was lovely to see you again.

Have you ever had your colours done Catherine? It might help you with the white dilemma… I reckon that TradeMe bamboo fabric will be a joy to wear and look great on you. A hacked Suzy dress perhaps?

Hi there, no I haven't had my colours done though I've often thought about it. I'll see how I go with my white-ish fabrics though I'm sure they will be fine 🙂, I'm really looking forward to making them up! I just love the black and white bamboo.

I can't comment on whether white suits you or not, but I can tell you that the plum fabric of your top in the video looks terrific on you, Great choice!

How fab to be breaking out of preconceived notions!! We all need to do that. Loving the black and white fabric.and yep LOL with the sweatshirt pattern but it is fabulous. On my list now. 😂😂😂. Like you , I am challenging myself this year to make more involved makes so next up for me is the Richmond coat by Tessuti and Closet Core Mitchell trousers ( gulp).

Ooohhh nnnooo sorry to put yet another pattern on your wish list! 🤣🤣🤣 That list keeps on growing doesn't it? Good luck with your challenges this year! Yes I'd gulp at the Mitchell Pants too.... but if I've learned one thing about sewing... its just getting one seam at a time done. You do all the steps and low and behold at the end you have a garment. I'm sure you will smash them!! 🤩

I have to say even frugal, anticonsumer me likes black friday - it works so well when you have a few things you were hoping to get. Pity that closet core only did a 3 for 2. Oh well. Yes! So funny about the sweatshirt pattern... but it was SO GOOD I couldn't pass it up!!! I'll get the Closet Core Sasha Pants at some point. Actually thinking about it I have the PERFECT fabric.... hhhmmmm Oh well, I'm sure they will have another sale at some point. Happy sewing to you to my friend 😘. Have you ever looked at the lagenlook/layered look type patterns? I recently discovered Tina Givens patterns(and others) because I like loose fitting clothes and with layers it can really be quite fashionable.

Hi there, yes I love an oversized, layered look. I have a few Tina Givens pattern and have sewn up 2 of them. Well 3 if you count the one I started and never finished😁. But that one was when I was just back into sewing and using a very slippy poly chiffon 🤦‍♀️. I love her patterns but feel they are not for the faint hearted! I'm always on the look out for new pattern companies of that sort of style so please do let me know if you find any gems! 🌷🙋‍♀️
