I feel the same way sometimes - I guess at the end of the day we all generally feel the same emotions in response to our environment, it probably doesn't matter whether you're homeless or a billionaire and comparing yourself to people around you doing better, inadequacy must just always feel like inadequacy. Great video Matt cheers bro

I feel you, I’m more on the opposite side of things. When business starts to do really well I have nobody around me that I could relate you so at times I feel guilty for my success. Keep up the good work, believe me you’re doing really well.

We appreciate your vulnerability. The human experience is complex but I know the best is yet to come for you 🌟

Thanks for sharing mate. I think a good way to deal with it is to acknowledge how much luck/ fortune most wealthy & successful people have had. I think it’s like being in a room full of lottery winners and being frustrated that you’ve not won the jackpot yet. Keep buying tickets mate, but try to enjoy playing the game while you’re at it.

the thing is that there's always going to be someone more successful. And the grass is always greener too. it makes me mad too when I see someone younger grow faster in a shorter amount of time, but that's just how the game works

We’re all going to make it. It’s not about who finishes before anyone else it’s just to finish the race. You vs. You. Love these see you in Bali sometime

These thoughts should only be quick thoughts and then move forward. No one should compare themselves to others indefinitely; it's a trap. You have knowledge in this space to always get ahead and succeed. Feel good about yourself and realize you have great opportunities with your circle of friends. Maybe they have some issues you don't know about etc.; you never know. Either way, great content, and to give you small perspective, after a year and a half of learning and prep I'm about to launch my first business endeavor as an almost 30y/o with family and kids and 9-5, currently at -$10k, never felt scarier and obviously didn't earn even a first customer yet. So yeah, for some, you are light years away in terms of business adventures, take care :)

Matt, read The Untethered Soul - you need it more than anyone. It is what you're looking for.

Good to strive for self progression of course, and surround yourself with those further ahead in what you care about.. But like the other guy said, you might benefit from spending time around those less fortunate too to regain perspective

Don't worry Matt, you can meet up with me doing 80k/ month and make yourself feel better XD. Nah but in all seriousness I love the pod and your journey - keeping it real.

Maybe get into the US market or if you already are take it more seriously and make it your primary focus and see what happens. US market is the strongest and almost 5x bigger than the UK

Pretty unfortunate to have that comparative thought when there are infinite immediate examples of misfortune around you in Bali. I can experience very similar thoughts at times and then think that I should explore a different industry but ultimately there will always be someone better than you and no one actually cares how "successful" you are so it isn't a game you can win and so why play it? Instead, and this might sound morbid, I try to compare myself to people that have a worse standard of living than me. I shit in water that is cleaner than more than half the worlds drinking water so that can be a sobering reminder.

Very very true and something am aware of, doesn’t change the fact my mind defaults to the other way around and is objectively something I struggle with/need to work on - but a powerful and useful perspective for sure 🙏

@@themidnightpod The thoughts are not your own, Matt. Not saying they don't feel deeply real and disturbing. Never fight them, never try to solve them, never run away from them. Just let them float in and float out again without judging them. Peace sits behind the thoughts - that is who you really are, even if you think I'm talking nonsense.

Sure, I guess, emotions don't depend on logic, unfortunately. This might stem from where your identity revolves around? I think this was true for me, at least, and what helped was having other things that contributed to my self-esteem and respect, like mma, helping animals, helping family and friends and so I effectively balanced my self-worth across different platforms, diversifying my dependence on a singular performance. Might help, might not, but something to think about maybe@@themidnightpod
