Maristela and I have been living totally offgrid here in Bahia, Brazil. We have been here since late 2010. On this channel we share our experiences and projects, past and present. Come with us on our journey as we try and figure out what we are doing.

Great thoughts Cris. Yes, for me and my background the heat and the biological diversity are extreme. Although, I have to say that Bahia's interior is not really so humid, so its not as uncomfortable as it could be. I really like the food too, one of my favourite things about Brazil. Have a great week!

I absolutely love the food in Bahia. I’m considering getting my homestead there as well just because of the food, believe it or not lol. I also like the prices of land are much more affordable and living in the semi arid climate is very appealing to me since I hate the cold up here in the US. Also it would be a short drive to all the beautiful beaches on the cost of Nordeste 🙂

@@nomadicprepper8594 Yes, I'm from Canada so I understand the cold. We have a farm near Iguai Bahia, and one time we visited Cris and Maristela, they have a great place. Our place is higher altitude so cooler and wetter than their place. Have you been to interior Bahia before?

John, I was born and raised in the interior of Sao Paulo and have only been to the beach in Bahia. But from what I’ve seen it looks like the perfect weather if you can figure out the water supply. In Sao Paulo I used to go to restaurantes Bahiano for the food 😍 How long have you been living in Brazil?

@@nomadicprepper8594 We are in Canada right now, for now we only visit Brazil and stay at our rural property (my wife is from Bahia). We are waiting for Covid to lessen, and then we will come back for a couple of months. Our place has a great water supply, it comes from a small spring up a hill, so no water problems.
