Update: there is no update

Sort of kind of not really 😉 But it won't stop me from making another video on this topic.

Thanks for the update. I hope the "local deposit" rule isn't true, then it's not much different than the O-A I had before. I'm happy to provide bank statements to prove I can support myself.

Do you have to pay income tax in Thailand if you stay longer than 180 days per year?
@AbroadInThailand4 ай бұрын
Legally you are considered a tax resident after 180 days

Why do you think to you have to pay each time you enter as opposed to just paying once? I thought most multiple entry visa is pay once and done

Hello mike my nemy is shay Happy for the arrangement you made on the subject in this video, thank you in advance. One question according to your understanding, if you could answer me I would be happy. Can a service business owner hire and work with other businesses in Thailand and hire freelancers in his field in Thailand and do business in Thailand in his field of business with a DTV visa?
@AbroadInThailand4 ай бұрын
You will need a business visa for hiring
@bikepacker98503 ай бұрын
Below is directly from the Thai gov site.......... If you successfully apply for a DTV Visa Thailand, you’ll receive a 5-year multiple-entry visa. You can stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per entry with a DTV, but after reaching the 180-day limit, you must leave the country and re-enter to continue staying legally. However, as this is a multiple-entry visa, you can leave and re-enter Thailand as many times as you want over the course of its validity. Furthermore, you can extend the 180-day period for another 180 days, once per year for an extension fee. So in effect, you can stay in Thailand for nearly an entire year before having to leave and re-enter.

I hope there is no minimum income like the $60k bali visa as I earn $42k a year
@AbroadInThailand4 ай бұрын
There shouldn't be a minimum income requirement according to current information.

Too early to discuss whatever about the subject. If it's not official,it means nothing yet. 540$ per year fee= 2700$ ready to be gone as fee for 5 y.. Plus trip money to get out and get in. So it will be more than 270 each time. Plus the savings of 13,600 for which I am sure they will have to transfer to a thai bank account,in order to prove they have it and probably will be obligated to keep it in there for certain amount of time. My advice to whoever wants to move there to live- have money. To cover All your expenses for 1.5 y.minimum. Just to be on the safe side. Plus to more people they manage to attract,the more cost of living will rise. Price won't stay the same. Sure thing. So....don't move there for living, if you don't have enough money saved. Common sense :)

Visa extension announced is a joke, I've totally had enough of it all and will just make do with my next 30day trip, as with everything in Thailand decision making is woeful
