Five Mantras for Life by Rick Mayall
• Five Mantras for life ...
______________________________________________
Right up until the introduction of the internet, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true. They told their children and their children grew up to be the parents of the baby-boomers.
Interestingly, Rosemond began questioning the role of TV after his own son began displaying symptoms of ADHD. In response he got rid of his television and within six weeks the boy's behaviour was transformed. Today he is a commercial airline pilot, a job which requires some concentration.
Still, there may well be a place for television in modern society: in our prisons. At a time when its budget is being cut by over 15% you may ask why the prisons service is spending an estimated £5 million on television sets for a third of its inmates. Why? Well, according to David Roddan, general secretary of the prison governors association: "It's the best control mechanism you can think of."

@christopherwhittaker2620 he knew that the television was a portal of passive control, much like phones, much like tablets, or any other screen beaming information into your eyes. Yes, it's ironic, he was a television star, but why would that hinder him from understanding the truth. Also ironic that both you and I are watching this, and making comments, on the very devices he suggested were destroyed. Because it already has us, my friend. We are already a captive audience. The question really is whether that is understood, or you are blissfully unaware or ignorant of it. Because he was right. This video stays with me, yet I cannot bring myself to disconnect, such is it's stranglehold and perceived importance. Food for thought.

Rik wasn't just a comic genius he was able to take any topic or conversation and make humor out of it. You see lots of behind the scenes of him and he always had a connection with cast and crew. He was able to connect to anyone on a heart felt level throught his humor. If it was a child, adult or someone insanely smart he always could tune into there sense of humor. Rowen Atkinson as Mr bean barely said 3 words but could communicate with the world just through his acting. When people can understand the humor in life itself that's what makes them a genius. @@Davidudka What one can imagine and what is possible covers pretty much every outcome. When a person dies, I believe that is it. But I'd be fascinated in evidence to the contrary. This is not a challenge. I've been reading on various subjects around this issue for over 40 years and the only conclusion I've naturally come to is that there is nothing after this. My imagination is irrelevant. I can dream up all kinds of utopian futures and scenarios where I'm reunited with loved ones, but alas I've not seen anything to suggest it's anything other than that. Just our imagination.

@@martinwilliams2556 People share their strange experiences all the time but quickly learn its isn't worth the cost in ridicule, shaming and other maltreatment they are subjected to by those who don't want to hear it. But the world was BELIEVED to be flat until it was found to be round. Radio waves were unknown until they were identified and used. The same pattern has occurred and will continue to occur from the beginning until the end of time. There is a growing portion of the community that would see great significance in Mr Mayall's words, particularly after the last few years. Other people see no significance, in his words, and that's fine too, but if they related his comments to their experience, they may start to think about it. The thing is you can't be shown, you can only go see it for yourself.
