A fire, a lump of steel, a bit of scrap and a hammer....

Another impromptu practice at Dreamspace and Wizard Workshops... this time it was forging on the barbecue fire. Charles had lit the fire for Fire pit Friday. I was tired from the dog dynamics at dreamspace, and much setup and rearranging of the workshops, and unblocking the toilet, and was going to just take our three dogs (we are babysitting Xanthe's fluffball yapper Luna) and go home... But then, seeing the warm glow of the fire, I thought Why not get the substitute anvil out, and the old hand driven blower, and get into a bit of improvised blacksmithing. After a week looking at expensive but lovely old anvils on Marketplace and anvil videos on KZbin, I needed a bit of the real thing. It worked a charm, and I went home satisfied - and a lot less tired!

stumbling upon a wizard doing blacksmithing is a mesmerizing thing to witness, albeit potentially only an unsatisfying morsel of his vast knowledge.
