Just bought one for my Colt Anaconda 44mag. I also have the Diamond D guide leather holster for my S&W 629 and my Colt Python. Great design and materials. I got them because my wife kept complaining about my sidearm poking her in the leg while she was riding behind me on our ATV.

Kind of similar to the old Tanker holster that was used for the 1911 in the Armor Corp. Yours is a bit more adjustable and probably more comfortable. IMO both are a good deal when you are in tight quarters, like the hull or turret of a tank or an enclosed vehicle. It might be impacted by a seatbelt shoulder strap so keep that in mind.

Making me miss home and the fall season. Commissioned with the Marine Corps earlier this year. From the Mount Vernon area.

I have the Guide holster and the Denali. I love the Guide holster more. They both make a heavy 3 pound revolver feel like you're carrying a 380 mouse gun. If you have a gun you love, you should get a quality holster that you will come to love. The way the straps ride, I can't feel them with a heavy back pack on. I love the Diamond D holsters.

Thank you Roy. I've was thinking about a regular shoulder holster, but for my needs, this looks like it might be a better option for my 1911. I'll look this company up. It looks pretty comfortable on you. And ain't that what it's all about? I like the idea of having an extra mag contained in the rig too,

It really is comfy, Mick. I wear it around here a lot lately since we’re seeing wild pigs appearing. You forget it’s on, no fooling. Roy

Good video. I was wondering if this product would be suitable for a person that's wheelchair bound (like myself). I use a custom Glock 21 with a compensator. In my situation the controls for my chair are on the right armrest. So the best senario would have the strap on my right shoulder with the holster riding in a cross draw fashion for a left hand draw.

My question has always been does it conceal well under a loose shirt or coat?
@diamonddoutdoors46294 жыл бұрын
Yes, under a loose coat it holds close to your body so the imprint is minimal.
@leecollins47964 ай бұрын
Not really a concealed carry option as it was made for large pistols/revolvers.

I don't want to seem argumentative, but it bothered me during the whole video that the barrel is pointing at your leg or hip. Yes, you don't want to sweep yourself while drawing, but if you carry cocked and locked as it seems, you have a live round in the chamber that's pointed at you all the time you're seated. And if you're working with others, the gun is bound to be pointing at them as well. My gun club (which has only outdoor ranges and will allow concealed carry on the premises) won't allow this type of holster - with good reason.
@fmgpubs4 жыл бұрын
Jim, people often wonder about that. Virtually any holster will cause the gun to “muzzle” a portion of your body at times. It’s unavoidable. Think about any inside the waistband holster or pocket holster, especially. One good feature of the Denali rig is the fact the safety strap can be put under the hammer. Should the hammer fall while in the holster the gun can’t fire. Some holsters (especially horizontal carry shoulder holsters) will “muzzle” others while you carry. The key here is it’s essentially “safe” as the gun is not being touched or manipulated while in the holster and all the gun’s safety devices are engaged (firing pin safety, grip/thumb safeties, etc.). While you’re drawing, however, your hand if on the gun and there’s a chance during a draw or while re-holstering an accident might occur (finger slips into the trigger guard, a leather strap gets caught, a safety comes off, etc.). None of it is perfect, but unless you carry the gun in a steel box, the best anyone can do is limit the risks and keep your brain turned on! Carrying a gun is a dangerous thing ... we just need to remember that and take whatever steps we can to keep things safe. Roy Huntington

@@walterkurtz9719 Hi, Walter, I have no problem carrying a 1911 cocked and locked, in fact I'm doing so as I write this. I was just pointing out a concern with the holster that wasn't discussed in the video. I also don't take your reply as picking, and I'm grateful for your experience and your perspective.

Only Fingers set off firearms, after all safety’s are disengaged. I have personally owned the leather version of this rig . For Redhawks and 1911 . I live in bear country and on a machine a wheeler a car a walk this is the most comfortable setup ever created!
