San Quinton had 1917 browning belt fed guns. Sing-Sing prison in New York had four Colt 1924 belt fed weapons…I know this as I have one of the Sing-Sing guns.

Springs around the shop come in handy if the city cuts the water off. I wonder if McMaster spring builder could create what a person needs, if you know the wire diameter, length, diameter, etc.

Originally, it was actually harbor defenses for San Francisco, then became a military prison, then a fed penitentiary, just to be pedantic. So the real guns of Alcatraz would have been cannons...

I did the tour there in August ‘08. And it was quite cool. Not a pleasant place. There was a former inmate telling stories and selling his book.
I've had the great fortune to hunt overseas as well as a little travel, my two grand forays were to Argentina for a visit, duck hunting and Perdiz (upland hunting for the Spotted Tinamou), as well as a trip to England for sightseeing. Argentina was an eye opener, life is hard, the struggle is real. My Ex-wife was a foreign exchange student to Argentina her senior year, we visited her old friends, but the first three days were in pursuit of fowl, water and upland, but the next seven days were spent living as Argentines, in a small village on the outskirts of Rosario by the name of Fuentes. We are so blessed with our freedoms and lifestyle, a person has no idea until you have seen the slums outside of Buenos Aires, how good we have it. They are barred from firearm ownership, foreigners are fortunate to be able to utilize the outfitters guns (rent and buy their domestic shells) but the hunting is legendary. England had kinship that was palpable, a brotherhood separated but by a small span of water. This was 12 or 13 years ago before all the Islamic falderal, genuinely beautiful country, it had a homey feel except for driving on the wrong side and strange verbiage for traffic control, Stay off the verge, Give Way, Queue Here, I found out while there, a hunting trip would. have been possible without great expense with further research. But I was more than happy to be back on American Soil in the Good Ole USA. Chet

Good to know! I have a Taurus .22 magnum revolver that has a very heavy trigger and this might help with my arthritic pain with a lighter spring!

I've used Wolff Springs for a while now. Like the other fella in the comments, I used them on a Polish P64 and also a S&W 638...and have replaced several magazine springs with Wolff products. They're a great company.

Over the years I’ve had favorite “gun guys”. Some of them were editors, some writers, others KZbin personalities. Colonel Jeff Cooper, Bob Milek, Jeff Quinn, Hickok45, Jim Scoutten, and Paul Harrell. (Oh my goodness! Thank goodness Hickok is still with us!) Anyway. I just wanted to say that Roy is hands down my favorite gun guy. Stay healthy and keep putting out great material! Oh, one more thing. I love the Charter Arms videos. Please keep them coming.

I used Wolff springs to fix the trigger on my first carry gun, a Polish Radom made P-64. I got it new in box for $169 from Dundee MI Cabela's. Built in 1969 once I got the DA/SA trigger sorted out, it was one of the nicest guns that I have owned, even if it was not the most expensive or newest. I had to sell it during a time of financial troubles. I just wanted to congratulate everyone who has been involved with Guns Magazine over the past 70 years. It is no wonder that you, along with American Handgunner Magazine, are able to attract the best writers in the business. Also to you personally Roy, well done for not just being a writer and former editor of the publisher, but for having the intelligence and instinct to hire both Tom and Brent as editors of their respective magazines. Although I suspect that most people have little idea of exactly what being editor of a major magazine entails, they handle everything with the confidence that comes from experience and personality. Having to replace two of the top writers in the same year has no doubt been hard, both from a professional point of view and on a more personal level. I also wanted to make sure that you all know that I miss both of them, and still pray for the families as the Lord brings them to mind. As we wind down this year, it only seemed appropriate to remember them, during this Thanksgiving season and moving forward. May you all be blessed during the upcoming year, and may God bless our great nation.

I like the Wolff springs for the single action revolvers they make the action feel lot better and I believe that they are easier for the parts in the gun being the bolt and hammer doesn’t snap so hard

Here's their website: tcarms.com/ I noticed a couple of the links aren't working yet. As far as I know they are not in full production yet and the first year (2025) will be Encore frames. If you're looking for barrels there are a lot of sources. eBay is a great sour, hausofarms.com is one, sskfirearms.com, eabco.com and others either make them or stock them. Roy

Sadly Ruger has an alignment issue with the super blackhawks printing 2-3” high with the rear sight bottomed out. A brass bead and JB Weld to the rescue. On the blued versions the front blade is not easily changed like the stainless steel version.
@fmgpubs18 сағат бұрын
I know what you mean on the "too high" but I have found changing loads can often fix things. I didn't know the blued where harder to change than the stainless though. I'll need to look into that on my guns. Roy

Why dry fire that thing 😢
@fmgpubs22 сағат бұрын
To see if it goes click. A bit of dry firing, even old .22s without indents to prevent the firing pin from touching the chamber rim, won’t hurt them. Roy

Wish companies (other than Ruger) would give us single actions in .32 caliber stuff, and give us 7 shot. 17 billion firearms are chambered in 38/357 and 9mm. .327 Fed mag .32 H&R mag .32 S&W Long .32 S&W And you could toss in a cylinder for 30 Super carry (yes, it's the same caliber).
