Very cool show today Ken. I was a Stationary Engineer for 43 years and made plenty of steam as well as other Utilities for a Chemical facility. Once the water turns into steam, on this boiler, the temperature will be 212 degree F so you must make sure you don’t let people touch the valves etc and the temperature of the fuel will be even higher. I hope the boiler has a functional pressure relief valve. A great model but it truly needs constant supervision while the fuel is burning. I think I may need to look into getting one of these not only to play with but it makes a nice display.

I agree whole heartedly on always making sure to not leave this unattended. As for the check valve, there is a working check valve to release the excess steam of the boiler if needed. It really is a great working model that looks fantastic. I love this thing. It's so cool.

SWEET!!!!!!! This is a terrific model and one that I have been toying with buying for my 2 older grandsons. I think the activity is priceless and the understanding of the engine that powered the Industrial Revolution and beyond is well worth the time it will take to put this together. I love it!!!!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to share this with us. Love the steam whistle!!!!

hi Ken when I was 8 or 9yo going back around 1970-71 my parents got me a steam engine car you did everything you did Assemble add water open the valve and watch the car run across the floor, I think the boiler was smaller, it was fun watching the car running, Thanks Ken

That sounds like an awesome toy Alan. It's amazing how toys have changed over the years. Great memories. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your story.

Hi Kenny, thanks for showing this steam engine, very nice indeed. Reminds me of a great big steam pump I used to work with! although I used some different words to you to try and get it to run properly😂

I would imagine that the one your worked on was a little more involved to get going than the one I worked on. LOL. Thanks for tuning in this week.

I always thought those were pretty cool. I would like to take it to the next step, have it actually run something.

I know that some of their kits have the steam engine power a generator which powers lights. It is definitely a cool little model. Thanks for tuning in Scott.

That is so cool, for safety does it have a relief valve. Or isn't there enough pressure to cause a problem. Great video
@acutabove_woodworkings2 ай бұрын
There is a release valve Dave. So in case of forgetting to open the steam valve or just not opening it in time, the check valve opens and bleeds off the excess pressure. Thanks for tuning in this week.

That is awesome. How hot does it all get?
@acutabove_woodworkings2 ай бұрын
The brass parts get pretty hot Mark. After all, it has a double flame burning under it but the base and everything else is still touchable, just warm. The boiler though is HOT. Don't touch it. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Pretty cool, i have always been fascinated with live Steam engines and Locomotives. You shouldn't be playing with fire on the show. HaHa 😅

You are definitely right that I shouldn't be playing with fire on the show but I figured it was safer than doing my welding so why not? LOL. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week.
