This video is why you have the best golf channel: there are more mid and high handicap golfers than PGA pros. Lets see ‘normal’ players test clubs. Great channel Chris. Good work Dave!

I see other KZbinr comments where some very negative people just blast the KZbinr. On this channel, everybody always shows love for Dave and Chris. There is a reason for that. Thank you so much guys and keep it up. Chris, while we love to see mid handicapper, Dave test these clubs, I also want to see an excellent golfer like yourself hit some balls and provide some feedback. So I am wishing you a speedy recovery on your hand and hope to see you hitting the balls more often soon. Thanks again!

I really enjoy the testing with Dave as it gives us older golfers a more real and believable view of the products. I am a 60 year old golfer who has suffered countless sporting injuries but despite this have managed to maintain a low single figure handicap of between 1 and 3. However, my 7i speed has dropped off over the past few years and while it's great to watch guys swinging a 7i at 94mph but it doesn't translate to someone like myself who has dropped speed and now only swings it at 86 - 88mph. I have recently started playing again after a 2 year break through moving countries and a shoulder injury and realise it's time to get rid of the old Mizuno MP18 blades and get something a lot more forgiving and also look at a 7i loft of closer to 32 degrees with hollow body vs the chunk of 34 degree lofted metal I currently have. Watching Dave gives me the type of information I want to see the foregiveness and distance you are able to get with clubs that I may be considering.

Chris, you and your mate “Young Dave” are a great KZbin team and getting better and better. I would love to see a new what’s in the bag for both of you together as the comparisons between vastly different player’s speed and skill levels would be really interesting. Love your work!

Hi Chris will you test Dave with the Mizuno 925 jpx forged please. They are meant to be more forgiving than the 923s 😊

Yea Wayne I will try and get those to test 👍🏻

I have a set of T-Zoids and they are my favourite club. Would love to see a video with Dave testing them out

I enjoyed the video, but I would really like to see descent angle numbers. Hitting a club 20 yards farther than ends up running 10 yards over the green isn't much help.

Hi, nice to you reviewing mizuno irons with mid handicap Dave. I'm 78 with a handicap of 19, which I need because I can only reach one par 4 in two where I play. I had wilson launch pads but happened to see a set of mizuno 923 HL 6 - sw which I love. They sound so good, and you can tell how well you have hit it! My 7 iron is 140 in winter, a bit more in summer. I have no hybrids, but mini driver, 5, 7 and 9 woods. I'm pretty straight and pitch well, but don't, mention putting! all the best, Denis Sandes ps i also enjoy the next 100 series

Hi Chris did you do a review on the Wilson Staff wedges? I know you mentioned you was going to. Also i know it’s not really the best time to test wedges. But I just wondered if you or James have done a review on the clubs as I’ve got the irons and wondered if the wedges are as good as the irons? Thanks 🙏👍. P.s hope the finger gets better soon.

Gtreat review, having a true mid handucap testing clubs and giving honest opinions is exactly what most all of us want. Thank you Dave for everything you are doing for the channel. Chris, great job and keep them coming. God Bless you both.

I love my new irons, D9 Wilson's. Updated the irons last year. Used to play Staff irons ,had them in the bag for 20 odd years .Lost swing speed so got myself some " old man" irons

Im an 8 handicap and I game the mizuno 225’s. I love them! I believe the 225’s would be a closer to the 101t’s than the jpx’s

I own and truly love the Mizuno 921 HM pro 4-P all 1 degree weaker than stock. Honestly, i wouldn't trade em for anything. However, that doesnt mean i dont think about building another bag for the shear fun of it and am considering Takomo 201's. Any recommendations?

I still have a Cheap set of Mizuno Altron irons from 35 years ago. I don’t play them but they were an upgrade from my 50 year old Kmart Dave Hill irons. Playing 26 year old Ping i3+ irons that I won at a golf outing in 1999, I think. They still perform well.

17 handicap and game G430’s as does my mate who is an 8 handicap. Great irons.
@grahamwilcox402717 күн бұрын
Mizuno make some great clubs, the shaft analyser is great and the range of shafts and grips available mainly at no extra cost is ace. JPX are good value but 923 look better than 925, but 925 have been engineered for greater forgiveness. Dave should try the Mizuno graphite shaft options, such as UST Mamiya Recoil Dart Regular & Senior.. A PXG iron fitting for Dave would be good content.
@justinmorton238617 күн бұрын
Takomo and Mizuno all great clubs I’m sure. Just wanted to say Sub 70 makes amazing irons for high handicappers and at a lower cost than any other brand.

JPX hot metal, surely is a mid handicap iron 0-10 would be 241 according to affordablegolf

I'm a Mizuno user. T zoid mx15 to be exact. Last time I had a lesson, pro took a look at the clubs and said "what the hell are they?" "Old mizunos" says I, "give one a hit". He hit a couple of balls shrugged and said "they feel bloody lovely" Nothing feels like a mizuno 😆
@peterheston170717 күн бұрын
10 handicap and use the Pro 245 which personally I like the look over the 925 and Dave's irons, and I'm in Dave's age range however I've not hit the T101's

I’m about to buy some takomo’s myself. I have my lessons with Jimmy at waterfront and think he’s messaged you about it. He let me hit someone’s 301 CB’s and felt awesome but I’m not good enough for those, think I’ll go for the 201’s. Cracking value for money by the looks of it. Shame cant get fitted for them

Always find hdcp range ratings a bit lame - more "marketing" than data driven. I'm a 0-10 and use Ping Gs. Just like 'em. Now, I also enjoy the iBlades, for example.

You just Need a high handicapped (18-28) fast swing speed player to go along with mid handicap dave
@johnbrodnik83917 күн бұрын
Yeah, we all want to see a hacker on KZbin! 🙄😊
@oliverrichardson198017 күн бұрын
@johnbrodnik839 why are they hackers? What handicap do you play off? I'm more meaning a fast swing speed that's not either a pro/semi or 5ish handicap as it's not a true representation to normal golfers. Dave is great and brilliant to watch but being older and a slow swing speed is not relatable to everyone
@johnbrodnik83917 күн бұрын
22 - 28 is a Hacker! Even Hogan said it… 😊 And buy the clubs you like but learn to compress and flight the ball. Don’t get hung up on How Far do you hit a * iron.
@oliverrichardson198017 күн бұрын
@johnbrodnik839 I've not once mentioned how I hit an iron or anything else, your basically a snob. If someone is not as good as you there shit. I've got my own set up and not swapping but like to watch informative videos on lots of subjects, my point is I know dozens of golfers who have played 10-20 years and are in the 18-28 bracket. They have a whole section just for them Rabbits don't be a tit and a pro said it 🤣 its like if Lewis Hamilton said if you can't race f1 you can't drive 🙄 😴
@adrianlovett348317 күн бұрын
These clubs are never aimed at 0 to 10 they are mid to high handicappers, on most reviews.
@johnkokott857017 күн бұрын
Hit it 3” fat, even a hybrid won’t help.
@markspencer711417 күн бұрын
When comparing irons shouldn’t you also be looking at peak high and decent angle
@jimwocha494917 күн бұрын
The HMP is not designed for a 0-10 handicap. Come on Chris, you can do better than that. The pro range ie 241, 243 and 245 to an extent are for lower handicap players. The hot metal range are their game improvement clubs. The HMP is probably the transition club between the two ranges. Lofts on the HMP are strong therefore distance is improved. Too low spin though at 4500 for a 7 iron. Needs more loft to get up around 5500 spin to be functional.
@jackcriss258717 күн бұрын
90% of all golfers would score better with super game improvement heads with appropriate shafts. Instead, they try to hit irons which are way too difficult for them.
@rsn201216 күн бұрын
I'm sure I would score a few strokes better with GI irons. I still use my 690 MBs. Am I good enough to really play them? No. Don't care. I play for the enjoyment of the game, and 1 pure blade hit is worth 100 GI hits that may go a semi appropriate distance, but look, feel, and sound like I'm playing with a toy. I don't have an official HCP, but I average 90-95.
