Dr. Mike is completely correct in his assessment of people's character lately when they get pulled over. I have seen some Body Cam Watch videos on YT and omg the amount of times people have tried to argue and "negotiate" with the cops instead of following the instructions given is insane. The people being pulled over are making the situation 10x worse for themselves then it needs to be.

But that's also mostly an "american" thing - immediately escalating these situations. We have cop shows in germany too - JK should watch those and get bored as hell. 😂 Because cops are highly trained and the main priority is de-escalation - no matter how the person reacts. And 99% of the interactions are civil because germans tend to follow rules anyways. Road rage and cops shooting are pretty unheard of around here. I always have a hard time understanding why you'd start arguing with a cop on the spot. If he's in the wrong - take it to court afterwards. Ain't worth it getting shot for minutia.

@@willionaire77 Love this comment, because you highlight that cops should spend nearly all of their energies on de-escalation. He has, imo, the higher degree of responsibility here to be the sane professional person steering every aspect of this engagement. Instead of dealing with her attitude, he says I'm going to arrest you now because he got pissed that she was being a jerk. This lady ending up being thrown to the ground with a gun at her head is way way way more on the cop than on her, again, because he's the one with the higher responsibility in these situations...situations where the citizen poses zero threat to anyone, including when she drove off in her large truck. She drove off slowly...let her drive home, you've already got her info, sent her the fine & subpoena in the mail, & no one gets a loaded gun on them & thrown to the ground.

@@scottsherman5262 I call BS. Did you even watch the video? No, the lady did not "ending up being thrown to the ground with a gun at her head". 🤨 And I rescind my saying you have less than stellar observational skills, for yours are actually non existent. 🤨 He got pissed when she disobeyed a direct order to not drive off. Before that, he was being reasonable, while she was cussing at him and being disrespectful and rude. 🤨 He pulled his gun when he caught up with her because a taser won't be effective through a closed door/window and she had already driven off once before when ordered not to. He had already put his gun back in the holster before he opened the door and pulled her out of the car. Hence why he had both hands on her when he was telling her to turn around so he could arrest her. When she started resisting arrest and started kicking him, is when he pulled out his *taser*, and then deployed it because she was being non compliant and combative.🤨 She was a grown adult acting like a toddler having a tantrum and being highly disrespectful to an officer of the law. By your "logic" he should have let her behavior slide and/or sent her on her way. That would be a disservice, letting her think that by her own actions, she can be let go, vs facing consequences for her behavior. 🤨

A dude i used to be friends with hand a different model Honda than mine but he lend me his front windows and swapped them with mine, they didn’t fit properly but i pulled of to the CHP office and they’re too lazy to go out and actually inspect it and all they told me to do is go over to my car in the parking lot and roll the windows so they can see from the office window that the tint is removed. Paid a small fee and got to keep my windows tinted.

Nah, most people aren't taught. And it's kind of a disservice to the bureaucracy of justice that we expect everyone to know how to perform and behave when no one is actually agitated within those parameters unless they are directly associated and normally that kind of direct association is based upon being a problem or being associated to someone who is a problem. And that's how you learn how the system works. Everyone else just lives with an ignorance and Pikachu shocked new information. Plus you know we have like generations of like slavery/ servitude mentality versus authoritarian master/owner mentalities but no one has processed. We're not going to get a better outcome until we start organizing directly the outcome of expectations and experiences as a whole per a society instead of individual experiences and then laughing when they don't understand what they didn't know that they were supposed to know 🤷🏿‍♀️

Is he pointing a gun or taser at the her when she got pulled over? I thought it was a gun but that’s a taser right?
@bethnichols2875
@bethnichols2875 9 ай бұрын
It was a taser. Edit: Correction: Upon further review and putting some thought into it, when he first caught up with her after she had fled the scene, he pulled his gun; noticeable by the difference on the top back of the object in his hand vs the object in his hand later. A taser would not be effective with a fully closed up vehicle and he was trying to get her to get out of the vehicle and not flee again. Then he puts it away when he went to get her out of the vehicle. After she was out of the vehicle and she was resisting by kicking at him did he switch to his taser.

So treat police as the police and not as a human, but treat service workers as people and not service workers? Not arguing against what was brought up really, but it sounded like they were trying to connect the two while also saying the opposite things.

Their point was that people need to stop blowing up at people and reacting with their emotions and/or egos because in both cases it is just making things worse. Whereas if people would get control of their emotions and be more reasonable then things would be resolved in a better manner. Like the difference between listening to understand vs listening just to respond.

Cop was wrong to give her the ticket from the beginning
@bethnichols2875
@bethnichols2875 9 ай бұрын
He wasn't wrong. She was in violation of the traffic laws with whatever problem was wrong with her vehicle. If she had been unaware of what was wrong with her vehicle, he would have most likely just given her a warning. Yet because she was aware of whatever was wrong with her vehicle for 6 months and had still not gotten it fix it in all that time, was why she was getting the ticket. By that time it becomes a safety issue.

@@alextaylor6755 Seeing as though your original comment said he was wrong to give her the ticket in the first place, no you didn't understand. As to "excessive arrest". She was being belligerent and combative. He told her not to take off and she fled the scene anyways. She was also resisting. She tried to shut the door on him when he told her to get out of the vehicle after he caught up with her again when she fled. When he got her out of the vehicle she kicked at him when he told her to put her hands behind her back. His action was appropriate given her behavior.

So, I get that we're all supposed to laugh at this older white Karen, but frankly think this is ridiculous. If the cop needs to stand there for an extra 10-minutes, then so be it...that's the job. He needs to be the professional here when the citizen acts like a jackass. He escalated this by telling her he was arresting her, which he just should not have done in this situation. Never is when this lady was any kind of threat, so when she drove away the correct thing to do (I'm arguing this is what should be standard procedure, I realize they're trained to give chase) is let her drive off & then 10-days later she gets a very costly fine & a subpoena to show up in court to answer for her misdemeanor charge of evading a cop. Again, I'm arguing this is what should happen in similar situations, not what does happen. It's just crazy to allow this to turn into Gramma gets thrown to the ground & cuffed with a gun at her head, all because she's arguing with a cop over a nothing fixit ticket.
@bethnichols2875
@bethnichols2875 4 ай бұрын
Actually what is ridiculous is how many times you've gotten this situation wrong in one comment section, in one day. She escalated the situation all on her own by closing the window on him, cussing at him, being disrespectful, refusing to cooperate with a law enforcement officer, and then fleeing the scene despite being ordered not to. 🤨 Her own actions resulted in her getting arrested. It is not his job to let her behavior slide and drive away without consequences, as if that shit should be allowed. 🤨 That is not how a person should interact with a person of authority. She made those choices of her own free will, as the adult she is, making the choice to act like a child throwing a hissy fit. Much like yourself. 🤨 And the fact that you keep lying your a$$ off by repeatedly, wrongfully, claiming that she had a "gun at her head" says way more about you then it does anything else. 🤨 She ended up on the ground because she was fighting with the cop. He did NOT have his gun drawn when he opened the truck door and pulled her out of the vehicle, as is clearly shown in the video. After she is on the ground and kicking him, is when he pulled out his TASER, and deployed it. A taser is far different then a gun . Learn the damn difference. 🤨
