I remember when you shared your plan for the rose wall. I thought. " Oh dear, he's going to be in for a shock when he finds out how big James Galway gets! "I also didn't realuze how huge they get when I bought mine. I'm constantly pruning them 😮

Really, really gorgeous! You've made such amazing progress! I created a new approx 800 sq foot garden area and had decided awhile back to use James Galway on the fence line. I've been super impressed at how quickly they've taken off (about 10) . I cant wait til they cover the fence. I love what you did with the area where yours are (will be very cool with the trellis'ing). I cant believe how big your pool hydrangeas are already! You should be really proud of yourself. Spectacular property!

Hi Matthew 👋 My potted Gardenia had Chlorosis, and I used ferti-lome chelated liquid iron. Both foliage spray and also in soil weekly for 3 weeks, and it Green up. I can't really do hydrangeas here zone 9b Texas Gulf Coast, don't really have any shade. We had a big leaf hydrangea sucker under the fence from neighbors... and continues to sucker everywhere here... Everything looks beautiful. Excited to see your trial hydrangeas. Thank you for sharing.

Everything is looking so good. Your hard work is paying off. I enjoy your videos so much. There is always something to take from it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge it really helps. What edging tool do you use ? I am struggling to keep my beds defined and weed free.

I purchased a commercial bed edger last year. It’s one you could rent from your local equipment rental. It’s landscaper oriented so it’s more pricey than what most residential owners would need.

Hi Matthew, fellow hydrangea lover here! I also just added soil acidifier & aluminum sulfate to my PW Let's Dance Sky View hydrangeas that just recovered with new growth after cutting them all back after the blooms were scorched from the heat wave in June. Apparently this variety is supposed to be easier to turn blue. I've given up trying to turn my other big leaf hydrangeas blue, since it's been a couple years trying with soil acidifier and coffee grounds. I'm now saving my coffee grounds for my cut flower raised beds to deter the bunnies from going in them. I'm excited to see your bed of trial hydrangeas flourish under the maple tree! It's going to look amazing! 🤩

Matthew, I had suggested you use Espoma Iron Tone because it’s my understanding that it will break down over time whereas the EDDHA is a one time water soluble quick injection of iron. So when you say it’s not the right kind of iron, please provide some more detailed information on this so we can learn more about it. I just love your channel and your personality so much and thank you for sharing your knowledge, design skills and your beautiful garden!🙏🏻💚💚💚

Have you ever considered seeing if someone would like the shrub you are allergic to? You may find someone who would be willing to dig it up. Nothing worse than rashes or worse. Beautiful garden tour, thanks
@jessicacook81866 ай бұрын
I struggle with chlorosis too. Many of my plants are affected. I've been using iron tone with minimal improvement. I tried the PW water soluble fertilizer since it has iron and didn't notice much improvement either. I might try some of this product. From what I understand its a continuous process? Not a 'treat and it's fixed' issue?
@SouthernersGarden6 ай бұрын
If you can add amendments over time that lower your soil pH it could help, but for those of us who have hard water it just compounds the problem and it could be an annual or biannual treatment.

Allergies, yes they exist. My BFF is allergic to lavender while juniper causes nasty skin rash for me. To date, I’ve never had a problem with poison ivy. Gardening is an experimental science.
