In this video from the Fort Pitt Museum, Assistant Director of the Fort Pitt Museum, Mike Burke, shows off a powder horn in the collection that features drawings of Fort Duquesne.
Now part of the permanent collection of the PHMC at Fort Pitt Museum, the G. Biler horn is currently on view in the museum’s temporary exhibition, Pittsburgh, Virginia, open

Blown away. I have studied and read collected books about Fort Duquesne and Fort Pitt, Forbes, Bouquet, Braddock, etc. for 40 years and never saw this depiction of Fort Duquesne with the extended barracks, and spread out. Also puzzles me why Grants defeat before the French blow the fort and withdrawal is not more clearly researched or told

I made a powder horn for a very close friend and it depicts Ft. Pitt, the Redoubt and the confluence of all three rivers. I plan to visit Ft. Pitt one day and see it first hand. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this Mike Burke! I marvel at how intact and clean all the parts are except a little bit of the handle. How come it's in such great condition? Where did the history center get this horn from; was it an archeological find in the ground, or was it in some family's or institution's possession since it was made?
