Thanks for sharing the pluses & minuses of the A- frame in a room with a normal ceiling height.

Wow, this is so helpful. I'm probably about to buy the A-frame and I'm definitely going to get the extended top bar (I'm 5'8"). I want to do lyra & silks on it so looks like outdoors, where I can fully extend it up, will be my best bet.

This looks so stable. I wonder if that is largely because of the fact that the legs splay outwards. The KT frame doesn't and is so wobbly. Just utter junk. This looks very well made. What would be interesting if you did some swinging motions to stress the frame, like kipping pulups. If it stays still during that it would be really impressive.

Actually, this product is very well made. It is a bit wobbly even if I don't do any swinging motions. (*Uplift Active is not recommended swinging on this product) You can see how my rig is wobbly during doing hoop (→Aerial Hoop /Man in the Moon :kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYKyZnp9Z5Jsoc0 ). Take a look at on 3:00 of this video. If I put some weights on them legs it would be less wobbly though😉

@@MegAerialFitness Its just so hard to design a frame that is collapsible AND rigid. The bracing needs to be unbelievably strong but really its all down to the weight that is OK for the customer. Piping that is thin can never be strong unless made from exotic and very expensive components. Nobody is going to pay thousands for carbon fiber or magnesium piping! What people really should do is understand mounting basics and attach mount points to the ceiling that anything can be suspended from using plates that cover 2 or 3 ceiling joists. And the proper tools that guarantee they hit their mark. Perhaps a better design would be to permanently mount some sort of plate on the floor for 2 of the feet by the wall and have it be extended out to another to that would anchor into a plate recessed into the floor. But very few people are willing to cut holes in their floor! At least this way much heavier piping could be used. Here's a comparison in strengths of different shapes: roymech.org/Useful_Tables/Sections.html Ceiling mounting is clearly the answer.

Would you say overall someone who is already doing pole fitness but wants to start aerial hoops / silks would this frame set up be good for a beginner ? I honestly just started research today about aerial hoops trying to learn more so I can start to buy the equipment and add it in my pole room :)
@MegAerialFitness
@MegAerialFitness 2 жыл бұрын
I would think this rig is good for the beginner hoop movements and beginner hoop tricks (no drop and no crazy spin). Good for silks If you have high ceiling. And, I highly recommend that folks who never try aerials should take aerial classes in person first. Be safe and enjoy aerials😉

@@MegAerialFitness ahhh thank you so much for responding!! that helps alot I might just hire a technician to attach it to a beam in my ceiling because I really wanna get to the point to where I can learn drops and spins. With the Lyra hoop Because I do drops on my pole so I know I’ll have the strength to achieve it faster but I’m so excited can’t wait to start my journey😋😆

Hi! No, I don't (can't) do any drops with the A-frame since uplift active is recommending "no swing" "no drop" on this rig😉

It depends on your body size and body type etc. For example, I'm 5'6 tall and comfortable with my hoop. And I like using hoop that smaller than mine as well.
