Thanks, really good info--this is the same method my studio recommended but they highly preferred stainless steel vs aluminum carabiners. I went a step further and rig my A-frame with marine-grade stainless steel quick-release deltas which has a even higher break load.

My carabiners are steel :) my swivel is aluminum, though. There's so many different types out there it's so hard to know what's right first going into it. Glad you found this video resourceful!

@@ApothecAerial hi! This might be a little late, but you should never combine material types. If the swivel is aluminum, the carabiner attached should be aluminum. Steel wears differently than aluminum, and it can (and does often) just cut right through it. Steel on aluminum is not safe ever.

Some reputable brands are FireToys, Cogg's Circus, Circus Gear, but there's more where that came from. The most important thing is that you understand the Working Load Limit (WLL) of each piece of your equipment and how it changes when they are put together. The safest overall thing to do is have a structural engineer (hopefully with some circus knowledge as well) look over your equipment and make sure you have a safe setup. The Facebook group Safety in Aerial Arts has a tonnnn of info on this and contains many structural engineers and aerial rigging experts :)
