That's a nice coop. One thing is you could have built a floor and wall in the nesting/roosting area and locked them up at night but then you would have to clean it.

About how far off the ground were the roosts when they were at their first height, and then the second? Nice tractor. Have a few chickens myself and have always had a traditional coop/run but just put together our first tractor.

I’m really not sure. They were even with the nesting boxes at first and now I have them above the nesting boxes

how many birds ideally should be in this A-frame mobile coop?

Depends on what you plan to do. If you keep them locked up 24/7 or let them out to free range. If you’re raising layers or meat birds. I currently have 10 layers in there and I usually let them out once a day to free range
