I’m going to show this videos to my future husband lol, maybe we can have dozens of handmade guitars, I believe they are the coolest, because people put feelings, memories or whatever they want on them and are really unique!!

Didn't even know what a fret rocker was called until this video but again I'm a bodies and electronics kind of guy and guitar necks are like the engines of an airliner - an engineering feat unto themselves. Good info and I look forward to putting it into use as my own projects get more complicated.

Nice trick too! I have a scrad piece of ABS sheet and when I leveled my frets, I had some issues with frets that were much higher than others... this would have helped me clearly identified the issue!

With all due respect, based on what you showed here, I wouldn't even think of using your fret rocker. Why? Because the edges have to be perfectly flat. There's another video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGHIdI15hLeJocU showing how metal fret rockers from cheap to very expensive are almost all not perfectly flat and the guy who made the video tells about how using them screwed up the frets on jobs he did so much so that he ended up having to re-fret two guitars. If an expensive stainless steel Stemac fret rocker doesn't even have flat edges, yours certainly doesn't. Amazinging, he bought a pile of fret rockers and threw most of them away because the edges weren't perfectly flat when he easily dould have lapped them to perfect flatness. That said, you just mentioned sanding the edges but you didn't show how you did it. Just rubbing sandpaper on the edges would not make them straight. What you should do is place very fine sandpaper on a perfectly flat surface such as glass or granite and lapping the edges to perfect flatness. You left out that step which is absolutely necessary and it's the critical step in making or fixing even a new metal fret rocker. Beyond that, I would never cut the fret rocker out with a jig saw (actually a scroll saw). If you just sanded the edges of your fret rocker, I can almost guarantee that using it will mess up the frets on a guitar. And I would NEVER make a fret rocker out of anything but stainless steel.
