Yeah, sometimes i think the people in the back have no idea ehat they're doing. I was just in my goodwills yesterday and they had a Christmas tree lit star marked $4. The original sticker was still on it for $5. I overheard another person complaining about it. But then they had some really nice made in England Danby coffee cups with the saucers for .79cents each lol. Those easily go for around $8 each brcause they aren't made anymore. Anyway, i snatched up all the mugs...left the star...and so did everyone else 😅. It's not it was a collectable or anything. It was a Walmart tag!

I primarily shop a one church thrift store. Their church has a lot affluent members and the get some fantastic things especially furniture. They too have gone up on prices and only occasionally run a 50% off sale on hard goods when they use to run them at least monthly . But if you look closely you can still get some good deals. I rarely shop at Goodwill or the American thrift. I fine good deals at yard sales.

Ha! My Goodwill TRIED to charge me for a broken wooden Christmas ornament , broken in a few places… I told them I’d be happy to buy and fix…she finally said- oh just take it ! This , after much deliberation on her part I kindly mentioned , who’d buy it broken -I was willing. But yes. Getting expensive. I think they realize not-so-needy folks are shopping . Yes, there is a Basketville in Putney, Vermont. I lived in Brattleboro , Vermont , then after that it's Putney. Lots of places to get the Vermont Maple Syrup. Back when I lived there long time ago they had a Santa's Land for the kids. Don't know if they still do. Nice made basket from there. Yeah the prices are outrageous at my Goodwill. And they won't come down a bit. You would think that they would rather get rid of it rather than it staying on the shelf. I guess it's the sign of the timed. Greed. Love that wreath on your mirror. As long as people keep buying carloads of items at Goodwill (which they do at my store and we only get 50% off on one color on Sundays now, no other discounts!) Goodwill will continue to raise prices. I have said for a few years now that they've turned into Greedywill. My store even asks you to donate your change at the register. I feel I already donate to them by buying things they get for free. I keep my change throughout the year for Christmas. Have a great Christmas everyone!

I don't know how old your basket with the wooden lid is, but that was a hot craft item in the late 60s-early 70s - it was sold as a purse! I had one and painted the lid with strawberries. Recently I broke something for the first time ever at the thrift store! So mortifying! Someone put a tiny bowl inside a big opaque one on the top shelf and when I tipped the bowl to see inside, don’t you know that little thing flew right on out and broke an old milk glass mixer bowl. 💀 I had all six of my youngsters with me and I felt like we were already drawing all kinds of uncomfortable attention. The guy who came to clean it up couldn’t have cared less that something broke or even what broke and he was super sweet about it and I was so grateful!!

They did not pass away from Cancer, but my husband Mom did from Breast Cancer. We both lost our mom at the age of 17-year young. We thank God for the time we had them. My father saw me graduate from 2 colleges and gave me away on our wedding. We are celebrating 26 years wedding anniversary on 12.21.2023. 1st day of Winter. It was a beautiful Sunny day full of Love/Amor. I know are Mami were watching us from Heaven and when our only daughter was born my parents, and her Daddy mom was watching too. The white restaurant ware mug you picked up is what is referred to as a buffalo style mug, hefty, larger handle, you can get 2 fingers sometimes 3 depending on the handle size. My husband does sell advertising on coffee mugs in small mom and pop restaurants, and he has for over 30 years, the smaller, less hefty diner mug is more popular because they say they don't waste as much coffee, but many restaurants still prefer the buffalo because coffee does stay hot longer. the decanter lid should have been taped on if it was ill fitting... Our prices in Michigan have gone up a smaller amount than Julie is showing us. Remember we are helping people with our purchase. I believe that flippers may have caused the higher prices. Goodwill knows this and could be trying to slow them down. I don’t mean to offend anyone, I have done this with some items I have found for flea market/ craft shows. Most of my items are handmade, but there are times I can’t make it for what I pay.
