This is actually an interesting question that I have wondered about ... PC Music artists have a history of playing with gender, turning gender into an art form, making it an integral aspect of the music performance. Personally as a queer NB boi, I feel great kinship with PC Music and how it serves as a critique and a celebration of femininity. But when I attended 7x7 back in 2020, I noticed that the Zoom audience skewed heavily male-presenting, maybe even like 90% ... Music in general has a history of excluding women as both musicians and fans, and it made me wonder what role PC Music plays in this continuum. Who is really benefiting from PC Music's postmodern critique?
