My dad use to go from Leeds down to Kew Gardens makes me wish he was still here and I could take him. Lovely to see nanny Di. My dad won shows with his cacti and succulents they were his hobby he built a big greenhouse to keep them in.

The word you were thinking of for plants which live off others is Parasitic ala Mistletoe 😉 I grew up a stone’s throw from Kew and visited there regularly until my late 20’s…I even visited the Orchid Festival once to do a project on them whilst studying for my Art A’Level…so Mark, you and Nanny Di brought back memories for me and of course made me giggle as usual. Can’t wait to see you both back out in the garden soon…just wish it would dry up and warm up 😬

I love orchids and have several and they flower beautifully at Christmas and again in the summer and their blooms last for several weeks each time and they sometimes have baby (keikis) which you can pot up separately for a whole new plant eventually. ❤

I love my dad’s cactus it grew the most beautiful flower I’ve ever seen, it only lasted a day. Also a wood near my mum and dad we call bluebell wood has wild orchids growing sweet little dainty things they are xx if you don’t know something I always ask Siri on my phone and it’s called a parasite lol x

You have to hire a vehicle for all the family to go to Longleat, they would all love it and you will all have an amazing day. We used to have a ford galaxy and our grandchildren had an absolutely amazing time as we let them out of their seats so they could move about the car but you obs will need a bigger vehicle to take everyone but it would be amazing, sorry, did I say AMAZING to many times 😂😂😂
