How does it hold a full frame Sony camera? Looks like it would fall over?
@Gemini_Connect6 ай бұрын
I tested it with my Sony a7IV and 20mm f/1.8 lens. It CAN be very stable as long as the joints are locked into place and you choose a stable configuration. I wouldn’t use it with a big telephoto lens, but a FF Sony with small to medium lens could work well with this.

I just received mine, and I echo your comments! In addition to the magnetic allen wrench suggestion, I'd love to see the 1/4" to 3/8" adapter not require a screwdriver. There's another tool to carry if you have to change sizes (though infrequent that may be). Thanks for the video!

I too have seen wayyy too many instagram ads and this probably convinced me.

Thanks for the review. One thing that I can't seem to find in any of the videos is, whether the bottom attachment (where it attaches to the tripod) rotates. I think that Flextilt Original does rotate, but never seen Flextilt Max being shown that it does. Another thing I have not seen anyone do is, how useful is it if you wanted to use camera in portrait mode.

Lovely review, I think I'll hold off until the next generation for now. edlekrone makes some fun and quirky little products but it's hard to find good thorough reviews like this!

With a few improvements, this would be the ideal product. Hopefully the next version is even better!

I'm considering getting this for my FX30 rig as attached to the bottom would act as a short stand and also be able to pivot up or down for some low angled shots.

I wish peak design would buy edelkrone. edelkrone’s products are good, but need to be finessed. I have several edelkrone products and they just plain leave necessary things out-like switches. it’s crazy to burn through batteries because there is no switch (this is also a pretty unique omission). in the case of this flextiltmax (I too have the original) and yes, it does look tempting, though also a bit unstable, but the missing slot/magnet for the allen key is crazy (and exactly the sort of feature that peak design engineers into their products).

I agree - this is the 4th Edelkrone product that I’ve purchased, and I’ve found that while there’s a lot to love, each product could “do with some finessing,” as you say.

If PD buys edelkrone expect the price to double. PD products are innovative but a bit overpriced.

Wow this is cool you post this video. I have (I think like you) been looking at this product for a good while now. Can you do 180 (overhead shots) degree shot straight down with mirrorless camera like what you are using? I looked at their website it said it hold max weight 5.5kg so that should hold my A1 & even 70-200 (II) since that is under 5.5kg. Not that I would put 70-200 (II), I cannot see the need. I would like vertical with 20mm 1.8 G, or 35 1.4 GM. So no problem regular tripod? Thanks so much for video!

You could do a top down shot with a mirrorless camera if you put the FlexTilt on a regular tripod. It would need the extra stability.

I'de be super scared of it tipping over, My little Zv E10 feels so much heavier with a cage on I couldn't trust something like this

Depending on the configuration you have it in, it’s can be quite stable. The joints are rock solid when locked into place. But since you’re given so much freedom in how you posture it, it’s important you make sure the balance is right for your camera.

There we have it again, sexist tiny pockets on women's wear. This will easily fit in pretty much any jeans pocket for men. Would it be comfortable? Absolutely not. (rant over) I actually like it. I have used something similar (likely a clone of the first version) before on a slider to quickly get different camera angles. Worked great, but of course introduced shake if extended too high or too far out. Now that I have a higher quality slider with more axis, I no longer need it for that, but I am still keeping it around for it's easy height and angle adjustments. PS. You have a lot of patience with answering questions in the comments about things you mentioned in the video. Good on you!

@@Gemini_Connect I think for a 360 camera or like the Pocket 3 (as you demonstrated) it’s fabulous. I would absolutely add it to my inventory as I’m a big fan of machined aluminum. Have a great day.

Link is in the description below. You can also buy directly from Edelkrone’s website. It’s about $70 USD.
