There is nothing better than the “bull elk shake.” If you have never experienced it, you are missing out! Congratulations on a great animal. Thanks for sharing.

As for the court case, it's mind boggling to think that a North Carolina business man is in court with hunters from Missouri because they almost touched his land in Wyoming.

Good Luck this year, keep bringing those shakes and smiles!😁

Great video! I’ve hunted a ranch here in Washington for 25 years with pretty good success.This year the young rancher has just completed hunters safety - we’ve got him fixed up with a 30-06,handloads worked up,& hopefully he’ll have a great first elk season!

The amount of public land in this unit they hunt “locked” behind corners is unbelievable. Much of Wyoming along i80 is the same. What’s crazy is how landowners complain about depredation, yet don’t allow hunters even reasonable access to mitigate the problem because most want to profit from selling access and getting depredation payments from public owned wildlife. Recent case settled in Montana told landowners to basically deal with the problem or allow hunters in to help. Hopefully a decision on the appeal by Eschelman will also be strongly on hunters favor. Thanks Randy

Hey Randy, I dont live too far from you... In Belgrade actually... The intimidating part of elk hunting for me is how to process it in the field to small enough sections to pack out.. If you ever do any local hunts, i would love to tag along and help pack, if nothing else, so i can learn how to pack my own elk...

I wanted to go on just one trip to MT in '14, and that one trip turned into 7 trips since, and a few nice P&Y bulls. BTW, 14:25 and 14:43 could be a postcard image! Absolutely beautiful!

It’s late summer 2024 currently. You mentioned a court case for the corner crossing would be decided late summer 2023. Are y’all getting videos out that far behind or did you mean to say the decision would come late summer 2024?

The case was decided in 2023. The Federal District Court ruled in favor of the hunters. The landowner lost and he appealed that decision. It is now in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

I hope the checkboard corner crossings goes in favor of the hunters (public) in 19th circuit, and beyond if necessary, so it opens up many of these parcels to rhe public which they should be. The wealthy private landowners have been exploiting this for too long..

Most of the better public land areas for good elk spots here in SE Wyoming are surrounded by ranches and roads that change from county to private in a few places. So private land owners around here have effectively land locked large patches of BLM and state land. It's frustrating.

greed and control. I wonder how man y of those rancher poach elk on their land lock land , why else do they fight so hard to keep the honest hunters out ?

nice elk , some one should remind the land owner he only paid for his ranch ,and the states and government has to stop allowing rancher from laying claim and control over what they haave never paid for legally, that land belongs to the people , glad to see the land owner lost and the appeal gets thrown out of court ,

I love the idea of having access to more land to hunt, but I hate the idea that the rmef buys up prime land and gives it to big brother. Where’s the patriotism on the American dream?
@Fresh_Tracks2 ай бұрын
I can't follow that logic. What is unpatriotic about a land trust, such as RMEF, acquiring land so all Americans can use it? Nothing that I see. What about that hampers the "American Dream?" Nothing that I see.
