When people ask why I hunt I always try to express the importance of waking up the forest at first light, the joy of being in the woods and most important, sharing those wonders with good friends that appreciate the same joys of the outdoors. My best hunting partner, my dad, passed on the 26 of July and what I will miss the most is being in the woods hunting with him. This time last year we were in Montana for a deer and elk hunt and I never thought it would be the last time that I hunted with him. Seeing all of you with Scott reminded me of the unbelievable feeling of best friends in the field enjoying something that is known only to those that have been in the field with best friends and family. Congratulations Scott. Wonderful bull only surpassed by the enjoyment of having great friends there to relish the joy with you!!

I feel for you on the draw after surgery. I found out I drew a once in a lifetime Oklahoma pronghorn tag, in the hospital, in July, hunt in September, 2 days after open heart surgery. While hunting one of the bypasses had failed so I wasn’t feeling too well. Success at 417 yards after missing at 550.
