Wow, this sure adds a LOT of context to the other routes. I thought Ending A was probably the happiest ending, but it feels good to confront Layton once and for all.

For sure, Route C adds a lot to the overall story, which makes it a shame that it's so easy to miss; messing up a chapter is not an intuitive means of access. I actually forgot to mention this in the video, but Chapter Ex2 also shows that Layton hired Kelly to bring him the last royal descendent of Kalm to kill him. I can totally understand your reasoning for Ending A being the happiest; I disagree only on the basis that the war with Weissholdt continues for multiple years after, which carries immense casualties on both sides. Ending C more or less stops it immediately, and doesn't have 50k people die or have Gabriel turned to ash like in B or D. I'll also be making a video on the entirety of Route D, since I don't think there's footage of it yet.

@@Zappy-McCraw The war goes on, yes, but Schwarze and Noir never give up on their ideals nor succumb to the "greater good" mentality that plagued Vert and Layton. They feel the most 'in character' in that route, or maybe just the most positive. Still, from an objective perspective, C or D probably has the fewest lives lost overall. I look forward to your next videos! This hack is great, easily one of my favorites.

It's because generally speaking, you won't see it on a normal playthrough; you have to FAIL a chapter. You can access route C by: - Letting Flynn die in Chapter 25 (AFTER Ouroborus shows up) - Failing to beat 28A or 26B within the turn limit. Route C was also made after Routes A or B, so it may not have existed yet if you last played CotBK a long time ago.

I don't remember there being a black dragon? Where did he came from? I take it you needed to keep Jaeger alive? Didn't even know you could do that

The Black Dragon is Claire, who is Jaeger's mount. She gains sentience thanks to the Rune of Embers, similar to Avalon. You needed to keep Jaeger alive, as you've guessed. You just have to avoid him during Vert's chapter either by killing Vert quickly or using Sleep on Jaeger. If you get to 28A or 29B, he'll be a green unit you can keep alive. He's only playable in Endgame B (vs. Black Weapon) or here in Endgame C.

@@Harbringer443 in what chapters could this condition be fulfilled? As far as I remember, you only encounter him as an enemy in the stealth chapter and the one with Copy Noir pre-time skip. Would getting a unit killed by Jaeger there make him playable in Route A?

@@Zappy-McCraw Checking the event settings on FEBuilder, Jaeger will trigger the recruit convo at 29A if the Flag for death of a unit to him in either Chapter 7(Stealth escape from Kalm) or Chapter 14(Blaise's Judgement) happens, but there is also an interesting alternative convo about Schwarze denying him from entering the army to respect the memories of the fallen, I don't know how it is triggered, maybe get too many people killed by Jaeger and Schwarze gets pissed, either way thats how you recruit him.
