After hearing Bijan Robinson being compared, had to watch both of their highlights to remind myself Saquon was...IS DIFFERENT. The only other prospects that come to mind that really wow'd me like 26 was Zeke, and not close. He didnt have the complete package like Saquon. He's literally the RB you create in madden.
@nard1000 Жыл бұрын
I did the same thing. It's not really close is it? I just had to listen to a couple of KZbin knuckleheads try to convince me that Eric Gray can fill the gap left by not signing Saquon. I think I just threw up in my mouth 🤢🤮
@MrUnicornX Жыл бұрын
@@nard1000 seriously the words “generational talent” get thrown around a lot but 26 really fits the bill. Best RB prospect in my lifetime and I’m 29. It's bad enough he was not even invited to the Heisman award show, but he should have won it. There is no better all around player in the country - running, catching, blocking and more.
@schuylersavage2765 жыл бұрын
John Varine so in hindsight they should have given it to him just because he’s cealrly the best player in this class BUT sadly he didn’t have the best season of any player and it wasn’t even close. TBH finishing 4th in voting was pretty generous compared to the stats of other players. Look I’m Not saying I don’t love him or that he wasn’t so electrifying, but the heisman goes to the player who had the best season and stats and not just the best or most skilled player. While 1) Barkley had amazing all purpose numbers and 2) he had to do evethring for his team and that’s why he was limited to below 50 or so yards in the biggest conference matchups that year, that doesn’t erase the fact that he had about 1200 yards rushing while other RBs had close to and even over 2k. I know there are many fair reasons for why those stats are the way they were, but Barkley just didn’t have the best season or even a top 3 season. Bryce Love was the best RB that year hands down, Penny was prolly second, and even if you want to use the excuse that Barkley played in the big 10, so did freshman Jonathan Taylor who rushed for over 1900 yards:/ like...3 guys RUSHED for more yards than Barkley had total yards...I think penny rushed for more yards than Barkley had even all purpose yards...so it’s hard to make a legit fair factual case that he should have won the heisman. While he is my favorite player I was almost a little annoyed during the season how after his hot start other RBs around the country over took him yet Barkley was still the one being talked anout week after week. And yes he’s my favorite but I just didn’t think it was fair. They would ignore the games he struggled in or only focus on his good plays in those games or give credit to those who stopped him but not put any blame on him. Now, that’s not his fault, and he was an amazing leader and he always took all the blame for his lesser games even when it wasn’t all his fault and his line couldn’t do anything and no one else could make a play, but it’s just that the media chose him as the darling early in the season and controlled the narrative about him as the season went on and he continued to slowly slip down the rushing leaders. Even Kerryon Johnson had more rushing yards and also had 24 catches and 20 tds. Barkley is SO much better than anyone I named, but that doesn’t mean he had a better season that year

I have played and watched a lot of football and this young man is in a class by himself. The first time I saw him carry the ball was when he hurdled #26 from Buffalo his freshman year. I knew at that moment PSU had something special in Barkley. After watching every jaw dropping play for the last 3 years, I now know they had the GOAT; the best athlete I've ever seen put on pads. He was so much fun to watch and so glad he wore blue and white.
@deecanterbury15916 жыл бұрын
Elliot Smeal i think he is special but wont go 1,2 or3 in a QB heavy class...ive watch alot of ball over the years...the person who he reminds me of is Barry Sanders..i remember watching tape on Sanders and seeing the same thing this kid has...there was acouple that came close but none as close as Barkley...if ya want to see something cool...watch a couple highlight videos of Barkley and get him bedded in your mind...then switch over and watch Barry Sanders collage highlights...to me the only difference is the years in witch they where recorded...but you will notice similar things about the both of them....its a good way to scout prospects also...i did it and had fun...cause i then compared him to the Bo Jackson collage highlights...its alot of fun...check it out...
@elliotsmeal35166 жыл бұрын
Dee Canterbury It's funny you say that because I actually did watch Barry Sanders highlights right after this video when I first saw it. I would agree their ability to change direction and make people miss is comparable, but, it's the combination of Barkley's size, leaping ability, blocking and receiving skills out of the backfield and the threat he poses as a kick returner that separates him from anyone else. Not to mention his impact on defenses when he didn't even have the ball; I have never seen anything like that. The guy is just a monster! I am gonna check out the Bo Jackson highlights though! Thanks!

@elliotsmeal35166 жыл бұрын
Dee Canterbury Agreed about the Iowa game. That 66 yard run was, imo, his best run of the year where he didn't score. The stop on a dime on the sidelines was absolutely ridiculous; that's stuff figure skaters do the way his legs bent. The catch & run on the game winning drive was also really sick. Jewell didn't have a prayer, and at that point with the game on the line and less than 30 seconds left, it was just so clutch.

He is a generational talent, the QBs in this draft are not. Because if you take a qb now youll need a rb sometime in the future but there wont be a saquon barkley. But if you take barkley now you can just get the annual top qb prospect next year or the year after who is just as good as rosen or darnold. Honestly i think they should draft barkley and push for kirk cousins.

The Colts need linemen to keep Andrew Luck upright he takes a beating

Steve Allen which they can get through free agency and later rounds. Can't pass on Barkley or the top defender in the draft.
@salasalavea1296 жыл бұрын
Brandon MUT Can't argue with that but we do need to make adjustments to our defense so even if we don't pick him we got chubbs a dominant DE helping he's big and very powerful who would be a big plus for our defense

That play at 8:00 mark he shifts his hips better than a wide receiver. Crazy.

Thanks for making all these vidoes, Nittany Nation. I've watched them all, several times. I will really miss watching SB, as he was so dynamic.

Giants need this guy. Odell is the face of the WR core. The running back core needs a new threat.

Kick returner speed, fullback size, receiver vision and hands. I hope he falls to 6 to go to the jets if they get Kirk that would be the best situation for him.

One of the more impressive runs Barkley had is hardly ever mentioned. In 2016 against Iowa, he hurdled a defender when his back was to him! His vision is so incredible that he saw him coming from behind. Best prospect I have ever seen come out of Penn State, can literally do it all.

One of a kind player. You'll never see anyone like him ever again. Let's hope his career doesn't get ruined in Cleveland.

Tyler kotch Cleveland doesn’t ruin careers, just drafts bad players. Barkley is one of few players that could turn that mess around

He kind of reminds me of Tiki Barber. A little bit more elusive of course, but Tiki was a smaller sized 3 down back who could catch out of the backfield, return punts/kicks (in college), and just was a nightmare for defenses. We Giants fans were spoiled rotten watching Tiki every week. He would carry the Giants on his back... but usually he was carrying multiple defenders on his back too. ;-) The Giants REALLY need an offensive line though too. Quenton Nelson is nasty. I'd be happy with Barkley or Nelson. Depends on if the Giants pick up some free agents to patch that line (or draft OL players in the 2nd round+).
@troyMLG7 жыл бұрын
Giants passing on a future franchise QB in Rosen or Darnold and going for it with Eli again would be the dumbest move they could make

They've got to! Picking a QB over this kid would be the biggest mistake they could ever make! Worry about a QB 2 years from now. Focus on your run game and o-line and all of a sudden the giants are back in contention.
