It was a sweet thing he did for his mom and he did so much work. It killed me when he painted the wood around the windows rather than sanding and refinishing. It also broke my heart when he covered up the beautiful mosaic floor.

OMG, What a good boy this son is to his mother. I wished we could of seen his mother face when she walked into her brand new "Older Home". He has a heart of gold and a old soul and so clever to be able to use all those power tools and saws and working with electricity like that. I wish I had a son like this. He also has such a profound love for his mother that you don't see everyday. Kids now a days do not have any respect for their parents, let alone their elders. It is so refreshing to see this video. I hope this boy lives a long and healthy and happy life. He deserves it and May the Lord Watch over him and keep him safe from harm.

There are actually lots of people who live like this - they're called hoarders and they live in chaos because they can't bear to throw anything away. So they're homes become unliveable. I think that's what is going on here, and the son is trying to clean the house and get rid of all the stuff that his mum has accumulated over the years. I may be wrong, but I've seen lots of videos on KZbin about hoarders and this looks like a very similar situation. What do the rest of you think? Is mum a hoarder or do you think something else is going on in this video? From Amanda in Australia ❤

Maybe, or maybe she was unable to clean it all. My mother was similar, collecting too much stuff for a yard sale. It piled up everywhere and got worse (it wasn't this bad). My mother wanted to clean it but she had Lyme disease so that was hard for her, and the weather never agreed with us to have a sale. Now, she's dead, and we're trying to figure out what to do with everything. . . .

I wish he had left original floor ,the color and design is very exceptional. Young people do not appreciate the the quality and durability of such a floor. Wad very upset when I saw him cover it in awful gray paint. Then he removed it again and the floor looked even better, thought for a moment that it was a way to rejuvenate the floor,but wad so disappointed when covered with inexpensive imitation wood covering.. . So sad 😞 miss beautiful floor.😢. Again do not understand why everything is painted white..is this considered an improvement...so cold and barren looking..is this consider modern and stylish?? . Miss the warmth of the wood color on the trim..it was not damaged or faded..was very mice condition, paint was unnecessary. My opinion, not all things done were an improvement..did like very much the tire with rope trim and flowers with lights 😅.

I don't think that's an issue here -- it looks as though his mother had fallen into a hoarding situation. Pretty much everything he cleared out of the house was obvious junk (except for the toddler-size kiddie car, which was probably his when he was little). I suspect that Mom was in a rehab center or hospital when he did this renovation, and will be delighted and much better able to manage her life when she comes home to her beautifully restored, thoughtfully designed house. What a talented, creative and caring young man her son is!

Maybe they sick & tired of it, maybe??? Maybe knowing the mother is older, and who-knows, possibly elderly - and it appears this kid is doing things very compassionately and with full deliberation, that maybe he realizes that the floor is a major risk for falls and injury: it appears from all of his deliberate choices, he made that choice with some thought. And the white painting "cleans up" everything so he can bring any kind of color choices. His minimalist approach is really quite excellent

He applied a sealer to the floor. Probably there is a moisture problem. Then use a sealing paint.

He did a remarkable job, but I have a couple questions. Even though the wood flooring looks good, WHY did he cover up that beautiful mosaic? It would have made a wonderful addition to the decor once he got it all cleaned and shining. And where did the portrait of The Girl With A Pearl Earring go? One second it was there, then the next, it was replaced by a wood scene. Oh well, I would love to see the whole house, and the reaction of his mother or whoever lives there.

I echo your sentiments , everything you said I thought in my head . What if his mother doesn’t like the white every where . It’s the reverse to her stuff .I know it was somewhat cluttered up . A lot of stuff was useless , but older people don’t like anyone tossing out their stuff without informing them . I loved the new bed . I most certainly loved that mosaic floor and when he started painting it I was thinking Oh Nooo . Please don’t do that all it needs is mopping then waxing , then buffing out with a rented big buffer . It was gorgeous , and would have added color to the room , that she could have made cushions to match those colors , curtains to match another color in the mosaic tiles that were in a lovely designed pattern I would copy the design of the floor , and make her a quilt for a lovely new bed .. l would have kept the painting of the girl with the Pearl earring .l wish we could have seen her reaction .. I’m thinking she would say where is my beautiful mosaic floor ,did you brake it up ? Is it under the wood ? .He would say yes ,, take off the wood take it off .. then she would see he painted it …… oh no she would scream .. get that paint off my mosaic . Will it scrape off .. I feel sure she will have some sort of outrage .. some sort of shock reaction .. I may be wrong ..

I think many of us feel shocked snd appalled by the covering up of the beautiful floor. How could he fail to appreciate its worth. Go to a tiling shop and you will pay a fortune to get the tiles to create a floor like that .

This was incredible!!! The dcorating waa a bit bizaare but the talent was awesome. My favorite was the black walls he made with the plants on them! It's a shame he covered the travotine flooring but he did protect it so that it could be brought back in the future!

Vejo pessoas reclamando porque ele pintou o chao mas eu super compreendendo. Aquele chao tinha uma forte presenca. Olhar para design por anos a fio, pode ser desolador. Vivo numa casa cuja cozinha tem o mesmo chao, depois de um ano de agonia, resolvi colocar tijoleira autoadesiva. Me gusta la forma que un joven hijo trabaja para restaurar la casa de su madre. Es inteligente y el color que utiliza para pintar las paredes es de mi agrado. Ojalá todos los hijos fuesen amables con sus madres. He prefers straight, simple clean lines, modern interior that's why he painted the floor and windows. That kind of floor tiles more suitable for artistic person. Well, if the house is mine then my kid has to tell me as I might not like it. Most of my furniture is solid wood, varnished. I wouldn't like them to be painted. Different individual, different taste.

@@margaritakurko8747 , я обращала на это внимание в дорамах и в подобных роликах с ремонтами. Шкафы для одежды есть только в богатых домах, где есть гардеробные. Обычно просто вешают на стену, или напольные вешалки, как в магазинах. Меня больше повеселило, что стены он просто покрасил - видимо, они идеальные, не требовали шпаклевки.

What a blessing this son is to his mother. He did such a beautiful job. God will richly reward him. El color de las 14:09 ventanas estaba bonito, hubiera contrastado mejor así en relación al color de las paredes, el piso era hermoso, no me gustó que lo cubriera. Tienes fijación con el blanco. En general eres muy trabajador, ojalá todos los hijos fueran capaces de hacer lo que tu hiciste por tu mamá.

He was painting over things that were perfectly fine. I’m surprised honestly. The floor was gorgeous, the wood panels around the windows were also beautiful, but I guess he wanted something different. I hope he enjoys his new space
