I am enjoying all of the videos of Tom Chamberlin's "A Gentleman's London" it is so distinguished, elegant, stylish, educational for all the men in the world no matter where one lives. We do not have this in the USA. I love the British civility about everything in their lives so old world but functional and lovely. Yes, from the English manors, men's haberdashery, old world style in the 21st century in 2024. Just simply the best. I think the closest we get to this world renown E.B. Meyrowitz is Morgenthal Opticians in Manhattan, New York.

Hello, Tom! I am pleased with all that you are doing with A Gentleman's London. It's interesting, entertaining, and, indeed, needed, for it inspires others to reach for excellence. So, please keep up the outstanding work! Of course, it is possible to become too attached to things. But I get the impression that you are handling that balance quite nicely. Cheers and all the very best! Johnny

Thanks a lot for this episode. Learned many features of spectacles, that were either unknown or never thought about. Love from Bangladesh.

Hi Tim, another brilliant episode, reminding ne of all the wonderful sartorial designer's that we have in our capital. I lived in London and worked in some of the top hotels in the good old days 1970-1990. This is one place I didnt frequent as I didnrlt need eyewear back then but now I do. A certain Gent has already recommended a visit so on both your recommendations I will pay a visit thankyou.

That was brilliant; I really enjoyed learning . I wish you could've shown some of historical designs, famous clients, costs and maybe the workshop.

Some medical comment (excellent episode as always, by the way): blue light filters don’t make much sense for sunglasses. We do have receptors in our retina for blue light in the bottom of the retina (because the sun is shining from above) and the receptors when activated indicated to our brain that it’s day and we ought to be awake. Blue light filters do make sense for screens after a certain hour when it’s dark outside and we ought to relax and get prepared for a good night sleep.

Presumably the frames are machined from a solid block? Can a few still explanation shots be added from Jamie’s workshop? Nice touch to have kids’ names on the arm, I note Tom has a wedding ring so perhaps his wife’s name is on the other arm. But brilliant video, as always. Thanks.
