A giant hot dog in Times Square and a disabled Portal to Dublin in NYC

Hi I'm Mercury, and I'm Inspired by the world around me! Join me on my adventures and hopefully you will be inspired too.
Today I went to go and see some installations that have been put up in New York City recently. My first stop is a giant hot dog in Times Square. An oversized hot dog sculpture on hydraulics that spits confetti has been placed in Duffy square in the heart of Times Square. It was created by Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw.

Next stop is the Portal. This installation is meant to be a link between the people of NYC and Dublin Ireland. It is supposed to have a live video stream so that the people of these two countries can see and interact with each other. When I went to visit the portal was turned off.

My sister was visiting her son (who lives in the upper west side) on mothers day weekend and she orchestrated a meeting time with her daughter (who was a student at the University of Dublin) and had been there since January and they were able to say Hi to each other! It was such a cool moment she said!
