Being X is so petty, it's willing to plunge an entire world into never-ending war simply to "inspire" faith in Tanya. In addition to manipulating selection processes so that Tanya get's picked for certain tasks.

I like the ambiguity of how much control does Being X actually have of the world. We've seen him pull tiny strings left and right to manipulate events, but is that him just trying to be subtle, or is he actually limited to that much? Does the world fight at his whim or is this just the natural progression of events that he just so happens to be using to his advantage?

The rifles that mages shoot in this series are normal firearms. Computational jewels are something like magical computer processors that accelerate magic calculations and help make some processes more automatic, like flying. They also work infusing magical formulas into normal bullets to make them explosive, give them high penetration, homing effect, etc.

If I remember right that jewel has a corruption effect on it so the more she uses it the more piety for being x will be felt due to the corruption so she starts carrying around a 2nd less powerful jewel so she can fight and only use the prototype when she gets in a tight spot

The actual motive of "Being X" is revealed at the beginning of the light novels. Basically, humanity in general doesn't worship the Gods as strongly as in the past. This whole war world she's in is basically a testing ground to see if giving Tanya divine powers she gets by praying will inspire more people to worship the Gods, kinda how there's myths about demigods who posses divine powers in ancienthistory. Basically, seeing Tanya's powers as a miracle from God(at least on Tanya's side of the war) So obviously......

10:20 And Being X stirs the pot some more on Tanya. Tanya still has her Type 93 jewel which she uses most of the time and then switches to the Type 95 when she's in a pinch. Every time she uses the Type 95 it messes a little with her memories (LN ref) 21:30 Being X stacking the deck, again.

Being X is not the only one, it had a discussion with others of its kind and for some reason they need human faith and thus they devised the plan to do this to Tanja. The anime completely removed this making being X look more powerful and like a universal being.

Tbf even until now that part of LN hasn't been explored more cause the focus is still world war and tanya's exploits. While it can answer plotholes, I do think it is unnecessary to put in anime as it's just a waste of frame. Us LN reader can just fill anime watchers in to get them the context. Same with the technology they use, if we insert it here, it would be just info dump. And I do like my anime compact, understandable, and entertaining. Plot holes are for watchers to fill in, not for creators to muddy up their end vision.

@@Clocken_Lorn I find this an important plot point. 1. It shows the reader/watcher being X is not the God 2. It shows what is done to Tanja is done by census of those beings 3. It enforces the understanding that these beings are more dependent on the faith of sentient life than the sentient life needing them 4. It enforces the understanding that being X is not doing what it is doing for the good of the people and that Mary Sue and her father are just brainwashed self-serving idiots who think it is okay if they invade another nation and help in plotting against it behind its back, but dare them to fight back

@@seynoonrae2474 very well, let me change the perspective. In 12 eps worth of footage which part should we remove and which part should be included to get the most out of a series. An anime adaptation is not a novel. This much is a fact. While novel have better freedom in it's narration and world building, a cinema have better visual and auditory impact. The 12 eps is not by any means decided by the author. It is very much decided agreement on both author, studio, and profit. Yes I agree with all your reasoning. They are essential for Youjo Senki. Yes it pretty much portray a different image compared to novel. However they're pretty much a very different media, that's a given. Also no Mary is a headache, she can think. But I feel like I'm healed every time Drake took over her to describe herself (Mary). Because my word, she's an annoying patriot with no regard to political scene.

Since they removed the mystery part that tries to unravel the events of the war and before what is missing is that the scientist is alive and is living as a priest in a church.

You guys know the dub for this is probably a better choice. They use a lot of military terminology and it’s easier to make sense of it in your own language. Also the lady that does the voice of Louise from bob’s burgers does her roll and is great at it.
